Experience:
Education:
All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi
Academic degree:
MCh (Master of Surgery)
Area of specialization:
I am working as a GI surgical oncologist at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, Rohini, New Delhi, where most of my day goes into managing complex gastrointestinal cancers. My practice includes surgeries for stomach, liver, pancreas, colorectal and biliary tract cancers, each case with its own set of challenges. I try to carry forward the training and experiance I gained at AIIMS into my work here, always balancing precision in surgery with empathy for the patient. Cancer surgery is not just about removing a tumor, its about restoring dignity, giving hope and making sure the treatment plan is sustainable for the patient and family. I believe oncology requires patience, clear discussion on prognosis and an approach that mixes advanced surgical skill with honest communication. Every operation teaches me something new, and I keep looking at ways to improve outcomes through safer techniques and better post operative care.
Achievements:
I am proud to say I was a double gold medalist during my MBBS years, something that still keeps me grounded and motivated in practice. Securing AIR 1 in the INI July 2022 exam at AIIMS was another milestone, but honestly the real learning started after that. I presented multiple papers and posters at diferent conferences, and in most of them I managed to secure first position, though I feel the bigger value was in the discussions with peers and seniors that shaped my thinking in medicine.

I am a surgeon by training and practice, my path started with MS from Maulana Azad Medical College, one of the institutons that shaped my base. Later I joined AIIMS New Delhi where I completed MCh in Gastrointestinal surgery and liver transplant, a field that demands both precision and patience in equal measure. Through these years I have handled independent surgeries across upper GI tract, stomach, colorectal procedures, liver resections, biliary and pancreas work. Each case has its own challange, sometimes straightforward and other times pushing me to re-think every small step. Working in gastrointestinal surgery means you are not just dealing with a disease but often with someone’s entire ability to eat, digest and live with comfort. That thought stays with me in OT. Liver transplant particularly, is a team effort, high risk and high responsibility, and being part of that circle taught me discipline that books never cover. Over time I focused on building not only technical skills but also clear communication with patients and their families, explaining prognosis in a way they could trust and follow. For me surgery is not about rushing to finish but about restoring quality of life. Whether it is a colorectal resection or a complex liver case, I try to look at long term outcomes, how the patient will feel months down the line. I also keep interest in new techniques, better post op care, minimal invasive options, though I balance it with practical judgement. In the end what matters to me is safe surgery and steady recovery, with the patient walking out with less fear than when they came in.
