I’m a periodontist and academician with a strong clinical and teaching background. Over the last 4 years and 8 months, I’ve been actively involved in dental education, guiding students at multiple levels including dental hygienist, BDS, and MDS programs. Currently, I serve as a Reader at MMCDSR in Ambala, Haryana—a role that allows me to merge my academic passion with hands-on experience. Clinically, I’ve been practicing dentistry for the past 12 years. From routine procedures like scaling and root planing to more advanced cases involving grafts, biopsies, and implant surgeries. Honestly, I still find joy in doing a simple RCT when it’s needed. It’s not just about the procedure but making sure the patient feels comfortable and safe. Academically, I have 26 research publications to my credit. I’m on the editorial boards of the Archives of Dental Research and Journal of Dental Research and Oral Health, and I’ve spent a lot of time reviewing manuscripts—from case reports to meta-analyses and even book reviews. I was honored to receive the “Best Editor” award by Innovative Publications, and Athena Publications recognized me as an “excellent reviewer,” which honestly came as a bit of a surprise! In 2025, I had the opportunity to present a guest lecture in Italy on traumatic oral lesions. Sharing my work and learning from peers globally has been incredibly fulfilling. Outside academics and clinics, I’ve also worked in the pharmaceutical sector as a Drug Safety Associate for about 3 years, focusing on pharmacovigilance. That role really sharpened my attention to detail and deepened my understanding of drug interactions and adverse effects. My goal is to keep learning, and give every patient and student my absolute best.

I’m an MBBS graduate with a deep commitment to providing meaningful, patient-first care. My clinical training has given me a solid understanding of how to assess and manage a wide variety of health conditions—both common and complex. But beyond just clinical skills, I’ve always believed that the heart of medicine lies in listening. That’s what I try to bring into every consultation: not just treatment, but genuine attention to the person in front of me. I have gained experience across general medicine, paediatrics, emergency care and preventive health. I have treated patients of different age groups and backgrounds, which has helped shaped a more flexible, to diagnosis and management. Whether someone comes with a new symptom or a routine check-up, I aim to deliver evidence-based treatment, explained clearly and tailored to the lifestyle. I’m especially focused on making care accessible and comfortable. Too often, patients feel rushed or confused when they leave a doctor’s office—I try to do the opposite. Taking time to explain options, risks, or even just what’s going on in simple terms is something I take seriously. Communication, I think, is just as important as any prescription. I actively stay updated with current medical guidelines and research, and I’ve been exploring areas of holistic care and preventive medicine too. The more we can do to catch problems early—or better yet, avoid them—the better the outcome for everyone. I’ve seen how small lifestyle changes, when supported properly, can make a big difference to long-term health. There’s still a lot to learn, of course. I think every good doctor keeps learning. But every patient I see teaches me something new, and I carry those lessons forward—with honesty, empathy, and the intent to keep improving.

Test advised CBC (for anemia) Vitamin D3 Vitamin B12 Thyroid (TSH, T3, T4) Iron + Ferritin Fasting Blood Sugar

Change Correct Your Diet for Energy & Mood Start your morning with warm lemon water and 5 soaked almonds + 1 date. Eat protein in every meal: eggs, paneer, dal, sprouts, or chana. Add fresh veggies daily: spinach, beetroot, bottle gourd, carrots. Snack on roasted chana, peanuts with jaggery, or buttermilk. Drink 2.5 to 3 litres of water daily. Sit in sunlight 15 mins daily – boosts Vitamin D and mood naturally.

You’re not weak—this is burnout, and it can be healed.

Do deep breathing for 5–10 minutes daily (YouTube: “box breathing” or “anulom vilom”). Try guided meditation Talk to someone you trust. If you can, speak with a college counselor or therapist

I am someone who's sorta grown into emergency medicine through a mix of intense training, sharp turns, and long nights that just don’t let up. I did my MBBS from SN Medical College, which gave me the base, but things really picked up during my DNB in Emergency Medicine at RTIICS, Kolkata—those years? hectic. You don't forget the pressure of working through back-to-back codes or handling trauma cases that change within seconds. Later, at AIIMS Delhi, during my senior residency, I got to see how clinical decision-making works in high-stakes, real-time setups. I had to push myself—mentally, technically, even emotionally. AIIMS was hard, but it kinda redefined how I approach chaos... you know, how to be calm when nothing else is. Right now, I’m working as a Consultant & Asst. Professor at Kiran Hospital and Medical College. Which is weirdly satisfying, coz I get to flip between clinical practice and teaching. Like one hour I’m in resus managing a poisoned patient, next I’m guiding a batch of med students through triage protocols. It’s demanding, but it keeps me sharp. I try not to get stuck in patterns—I mean emergency medicine is always shifting. I stay updated with new guidelines, courses, journals—some of it sticks, some doesn’t haha. But that’s how you keep growing. My thing is blending strong protocols with some human stuff—listening better, watching closer, explaining things in a way people can actually get. And yeah, mentoring’s important to me. Watching younger docs or interns go from nervous to confident... feels good. I’m all for building that bridge between practice and teaching, science and instinct. Maybe I don’t always get it right—but I care, a lot. That counts right?

Hi, thank you for opening up. What you’re describing — constant fatigue despite rest, body aches, headaches, shoulder pain, emotional heaviness, and a constant sense of frustration or urge to cry — can be signs of chronic stress, depression, anxiety, or even underlying physical conditions like vitamin deficiencies, thyroid issues, or chronic fatigue syndrome.

Here’s what you should consider doing:

1. Medical Checkup:

Get some basic tests done to rule out physical causes:

Vitamin B12 and D levels

Thyroid (TSH, T3, T4)

Iron levels and CBC

Blood sugar A general physician can guide you with these.

2. Mental Health Support:

Your emotional symptoms — feeling like crying, frustration, lack of energy — strongly point towards depression or emotional burnout. These are medical conditions, not personal failures. You should consider:

Talking to a therapist or psychiatrist

If therapy is not accessible, try talking to a trusted adult, teacher, or friend.

3. Lifestyle Tips:

Nutrition: Try to include fruits, vegetables, and protein in your meals. Junk food and lack of nutrients worsen mood and fatigue.

Routine: Even light morning exercise or walking helps improve energy levels and mood.

Sleep Hygiene: Maintain a regular sleep schedule and reduce phone/screen time before bed.

4. You’re Not Alone:

Many students feel overwhelmed due to studies, pressure, loneliness, or emotional wounds (including unresolved personal pain or past trauma). You’re not weak for feeling this way.

I completed my medical degree in 2023, but honestly, my journey in healthcare started way before that. Since 2018, I’ve been actively involved in clinical practice—getting hands-on exposure across multiple departments like ENT, pediatrics, dermatology, ophthalmology, medicine, and emergency care. One of the most intense and defining phases of my training was working at a District Government Hospital for a full year during the COVID pandemic. It was chaotic, unpredictable, and exhausting—but it also grounded me in real-world medicine like no textbook ever could. Over time, I’ve worked in both OPD and IPD setups, handling everything from mild viral fevers to more stubborn, long-term conditions. These day-to-day experiences really built my base and taught me how to stay calm when things get hectic—and how to adjust fast when plans don’t go as expected. What I’ve learned most is that care isn't only about writing the right medicine. It’s about being fully there, listening properly, and making sure the person feels seen—not just treated. Alongside clinical work, I’ve also been exposed to preventive health, health education, and community outreach. These areas really matter to me because I believe real impact begins outside the hospital, with awareness and early intervention. My approach is always centered around clarity, empathy, and clinical logic—I like to make sure every patient knows exactly what’s going on and why we’re doing what we’re doing. I’ve always felt a pull towards general medicine and internal care, and honestly, I’m still learning every single day—each patient brings a new lesson. Medicine never really sits still, it keeps shifting, and I try to shift with it. Not just in terms of what I know, but also in how I listen and respond. For me, it’s always been about giving real care. Genuine, respectful, and the kind that actually helps a person heal—inside and out.

Hello Ms. Ankita Tiwari. The symptoms of feeling dull, less energetic and easy fatiguability, headache, crying spells, emotional dysregulation and sleep issues that you mentioned may point towards possible Depression. And sometimes, vitamin B12 and Vitamin D3 deficiencies can also mimic Depression. Please seek psychiatric help either online or in-person for detailed evaluation. Regards, Dr. Charan Kumar Pottem, MD Psychiatry (NIMHANS)

Experiencing fatigue despite having adequate sleep can be frustrating and may point to several underlying causes. It’s important to see your healthcare provider to evaluate conditions like anemia, hypothyroidism, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, or sleep disorders such as sleep apnea. Consider reviewing your sleep quality; sometimes the environment or habits before sleep can affect how restorative rest is. Assess whether you’re experiencing stress or anxiety, as these can contribute to your symptoms and might require addressing through therapy or stress management techniques. Ensure your diet is varied, including sufficient proteins, fruits, vegetables, and staying hydrated. Nutritional deficiencies can lead to fatigue too. Engaging in regular physical activity often improves both energy levels and mood over time, even light aerobic exercises like walking. If you’re dealing with persistent headaches and body aches, keep track of when these occur, their intensity, and any associated activities or food intake, as this may help identify potential triggers. Consulting a doctor to discuss the emotional aspect is crucial; mental health holds a significant sway over physical well-being. Address any negative feelings promptly, preferably with a mental health professional. In cases where symptoms worsen or are accompanied by new, acute symptoms such as unusual weight loss, fever, or persistent confusion, seek immediate medical attention to rule out more serious conditions.
