Bleeding and odd colored discharge after being fingered - #29161
I am a bit freaking out right now. A couple of days ago, I was with my partner and we got a little carried away, and he fingered me. At first, everything seemed normal, ya know? But now, I am experiencing some bleeding and odd colored discharge after being fingered. The discharge is like this weird yellowish green shade, which I’ve never seen before! I’ve never had bleeding like this after being fingered either, it feels kind of scary. I don’t know if this is normal. Like, is this something that usually happens? I mean, I've heard that some bleeding and discharge can be common after intense situations, but this just feels different. I’m trying to stay calm, but it’s tough. The bleeding isn't heavy, just a little spotting, but the discoloration worries me more. Should I go get checked? What could this mean? I don’t have any other symptoms like itching or a bad smell, but the whole thing is just messing with my mind. Shouldn't I be worried? Please any advice from you all would really help right now. Like, should I research more or just go straight to the doctor?

Doctors' responses
Bleeding after being fingered can sometimes occur if the vaginal area is injured or irritated, especially if there’s roughness involved, but it’s not typical to see a yellowish-green discharge following such activity. That kind of discharge, in particular, can sometimes indicate an infection. While you might not be experiencing any other symptoms like itching or a foul odor, the color of discharge you’re describing can be linked to bacterial infections such as bacterial vaginosis or possibly a sexually transmitted infection, even if you don’t have other classic symptoms. It’s definitely a good idea to see a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation to get to the bottom of what’s causing these symptoms. Particularly since you’re noting that the bleeding and odd colors are unusual for you, it could be indicative of something requiring treatment. Infections can lead to complications if left untreated, so it’s best to address it sooner rather than later.
While waiting to see your doctor, try to avoid any activities that might irritate the area further, such as using harsh soaps or other irritants on or around the vagina, and abstain from sexual activities until you’ve been evaluated and treated if necessary. It can be worrying to experience symptoms that are out of the ordinary for your body, but taking clear steps to see a healthcare provider can help you both reassure yourself and get a handle with what’s going on. In the meantime, try not to overly stress, but do take action to get it checked out. If you’re having pain or notice symptoms worsening rapidly, consider seeking medical attention more urgently. For now, make that appointment and talk with a healthcare provider who can guide you based on their findings and recommend the appropriate next steps.
