Area of specialization:
I am a consultant in Pulmonology, and my day mostly go around seeing patients with breathing troubles, long term lung diseases or sudden chest infections that worry them. My main focus is on asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, bronchiectasis – the kind of conditions that slowly affect daily life if not managed right. I also deal with tuberculosis, pneumonia, and lately a lot of post covid lung complication cases. Many come with sleep apnea, chronic cough or allergic airway problems, and those small symptoms sometimes hide bigger issues, so I try to pay attention to details that can be easy missed. At Apollo Bengaluru I also work with the lung transplant team, which means handling patients before surgery, helping them get ready, and then guiding them after transplant too. Critical care is a part of my practice, long nights in ICU, ventilator support decisions, all of it needs fast yet careful judgment. Alongside treatment I also believe in preventive steps like smoking cessation programs, lung detox guidance, and building lung immunity, because avoiding damage is always better than fixing it later. I try to keep my approach evidence based but also practical – clear communication with patients, explaining conditions without jargon, and setting realistic expectations for recovery. For some it is about just managing breathlessness better, for others it’s about long term transplant care, but my aim is always to make breathing easier and life more comfortable.
Achievements:
I am trained in Rheumatology with association to the Royal college of Physicians, an experience that shaped much of how I approach complex autoimmune and joint related disorders. During the peak of pandemic I worked as part of the covid management team of the state govt, where decisions were quick, resources stretched and patient load was overwhelming but it taught me resilience. Alongside clinical practice I also worked on AI and healthcare publications, trying to connect tech with real patient care improvments.

I am a consultant pulmonologist, working every day with patients who come in with breathing trouble that ranges from a simple cough that won’t go away to serious conditions like COPD, asthma or interstitial lung disease. Over years I learnt that respiratory problems are not only about lungs but also about how they impact the whole life of a person, sleep, work, even simple things like walking a few steps. I see a lot of tuberculosis cases too, and post covid complications which are becoming more frequent than anyone expected. Many patients still stuggle with fatigue, breathlessness or sleep issues even months later, and I try to guide them with a mix of medical treatment, lifestyle adjustments and constant follow ups. At Apollo Hospitals Bengaluru I am part of the lung transplant team. Working on lung transplants has been one of the most intense and fulfilling part of my career.. it takes coordination, long hours, and a team that trusts each other. I had chance to be involved in multiple successful transplants, and each case reminds me that even in the most advanced procedures, patient centric care matters the most. I focus strongly on evidence based medicine, but I also try to listen carefully to what the patient is telling me, sometimes a small detail like sleep disturbance points toward a hidden disorder. I deal with sleep apnea, allergies, chronic bronchitis, pulmonary fibrosis, and other complex lung problems. My approach is to explain clearly what the condition means, how treatment works, what can be expected – because many patients feel anxious when they dont fully understand the illness. In short my work is about diagnosing correctly, treating responsibly and helping patients regain quality of life. Whether its long term asthma control, rehabilitation after covid, or advanced transplant follow up, my goal remain same: safe and effective care that improves breathing and overall well being.
