Hello Anusha,
As you mentioned reoccurring means it’s reoccurring means it’s spreading from one site to another by touch or from our cloths ( use well washed and dry cleaned cloths)
Change medication to:_
1. Terbinafin 2% cream apply twice fir 4 weeks 2. T.Fluconazole 150 once weekly for 4 weeks ( total 4 tabs) if LFT is normal 3. Reduce sugar from diet.
Remember reused cloths should be well dried or ironed
No change in 2 weeks then visit Dermatologist
Do follow up

Use moisturizer if skin is dry or cracked Eat:
Garlic, turmeric, ginger (natural antifungals)

Green leafy vegetables, bitter gourd, neem
Yogurt with probiotics (if not contraindicated)
Coconut oil (can also be applied topically) Avoid:
Sugar and sweet foods (fuels fungal growth)
Refined carbs (white rice, white bread, bakery items)
Junk food, fried items
Excess milk and cheese
If the topical clotrimazole isn’t working and the ringworm keeps reoccurring, it might be time to consider a few different approaches. Firstly, you may need a more potent topical antifungal, so look for creams with terbinafine or miconazole, which can be more effective against ringworm. Creams like Lamisil (terbinafine) might be a good option; apply it to the affected area twice daily for at least two weeks, even after it looks like the ringworm has cleared to ensure all the fungus is gone. If topical treatments are still not effective, or if the infection is widespread or particularly persistent, oral antifungal medications might be needed. Terbinafine (Lamisil) tablets or itraconazole (Sporanox) could be prescribed by a healthcare professional. These are typically taken daily for 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the severity and response to treatment. It’s crucial to have these medications prescribed by a healthcare provider because they require monitoring for side effects, especially with liver function in mind. Regarding dietary adjustments, while no specific diet can cure a fungal infection, maintaining a well-balanced diet bolstering your immune system is always beneficial. Focus on staying hydrated, consuming fresh fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and reducing sugar, which can sometimes promote fungal growth. Ensure you keep the affected area clean, dry and avoid sharing personal items like towels or clothing to prevent spreading. Consider wearing loose cotton gloves to prevent scratching or irritation when the itchy episodes hit. If the infection persists despite these measures, or if there’s any sign of a secondary infection like increased redness, swelling or pus, consulting a dermatologist would be advisable to explore further treatment options.
