I am really trying to figure out the ice on face benefits because I've been dealing with these puffy eyes for weeks now and it’s driving me nuts!! A couple of days ago, I read that putting ice on your face could help reduce swelling, and I thought maybe that's what I need. I mean, I barely slept last night after binge-watching a show, and now I look like I’ve been crying for hours. I tried tossing some ice in a cloth and pressing it to my cheeks and under my eyes, but I'm unsure if I’m doing it right. Can anyone tell me what the actual ice on face benefits are? Like, how long should I leave it on? Does it help with other things like redness or maybe acne?? I heard somewhere that ice on face benefits could even include making skin look firmer, but is that real? My skin kinda feels tight afterward but I can't tell if it’s just the cold or something else. Any tips or tricks or advice on how to maximize the ice on face benefits would be super helpful because I really want to get this puffiness under control before my friend's wedding this weekend!! I'm honestly starting to panic a little.

Some find it helps in managing mild acne because the cold can soothe inflammation, though it shouldn’t be relied upon for severe acne. As for skin looking firmer—the cold does temporarily tighten the skin making it appear firmer right after treatment, but this won’t have long-lasting effects. It’s definitely not a substitute for well-rested skin and a healthy skincare routine. For best results—and to prevent any potential skin damage—make sure you’re not pressing too hard and let your skin return to its normal temperature before reapplying ice. If puffiness persists, ensure you’re getting enough rest and reduce sodium intake, as diet can often contribute to fluid retention. If swelling is severe or thrombositic (dense/thrombosed), it might be worth considering consulting a dermatologist for advice beyond at-home care options.
