Doctors’ responses

Dr. Perambalur Ayyadurai Rohith
I am a general physician with more than 10 yr of clinical experiance, and in this time I worked with patients from all age groups, from young kids to elderly with multiple chronic issues. My practice has been wide, but I gradually developed deeper intrest in diabetology. I spend much of my day focusing on prevention, early diagnosis and management of diabetes, using lifestyle modification, medical therapy and regular monitoring. Many patients come worried about complications, and I try to explain things in simple language, whether it is diet, excercise, or understanding lab reports, so they dont feel lost. I also conduct detailed diagnostic evaluation and use evidence based protocols to make sure treatment is reliable and updated, even if sometimes I double check myself when results dont match the clinical picture. Apart from regular OPD practice, I gained strong experiance in occupational health. Over years I worked with multiple companies handling pre employment checks, annual medical exams, workplace wellness programs, and ensuring compliance with industrial health and safety standards. It is diffrent from hospital practice, but equally important, because healthy workers mean safe and productive workplace. I run medical surveillance programs and health awareness sessions in collaboration with corporates, and this also gave me exposure to preventive strategies on a large scale. For me, patient care is not just treatment but building trust. My career revolve around preventive medicine, ethical clinical practice, and continuous learning. I keep myself updated with modern medical protocols, but I also value listening to patient worries, since medicine is not only about lab values but also about how a person feels in daily life. I make mistakes in words sometimes, but in my work I try to be very precise. At end of day, my aim is to provide care that is accessible, evidence based and truly centered on patient well being.

1. Itching with red bumps all over the body can be due to allergy infection scabies or eczema so identifying the cause is important.

2. Avoid scratching as it will worsen the rash and increase the chance of infection.

3. Use mild soap and lukewarm water for bathing and apply a fragrance free moisturizer to soothe the skin.

4. For quick relief an antihistamine tablet at night can reduce itching but it should be taken only after a doctors advice.

5. If scabies or fungal infection is suspected specific creams or medicines will be required which only a dermatologist can prescribe.

6. Since your palms are severely affected please visit a dermatologist soon for proper examination and treatment.

Itching accompanied by small red bumps and significant involvement of your palms could be indicative of various conditions, such as allergic reactions, viral infections, or dermatitis. One common cause for such symptoms is contact dermatitis, which occurs when your skin comes in contact with an irritating substance or allergen. It’s important to think about any new skin products, detergents, or other substances you’ve been in contact with recently that could be causing this reaction. Another possibility might be a viral exanthem, which could also present with a rash. While waiting for a more definitive assessment by a healthcare provider, there are a few steps you could take to alleviate the itching. Over-the-counter antihistamines can reduce itching related to allergic reactions. Consider taking one of these if you’re not already on any other medications that might interact. Also, applying a cool, moist compress to the affected areas or a gentle, unscented moisturizer might help soothe your skin. If symptoms are severe, don’t hesitate to see a healthcare provider promptly, especially if you experience any signs of infection like fever or if the rash spreads or becomes painful. Also, sudden severe rashes accompanied by difficulty in breathing or swelling could indicate anaphylaxis, a serious condition requiring immediate medical attention. In any case, given the extent of your symptoms and palm involvement, I recommend seeing a dermatologist or general practitioner who can provide a more tailored treament plan, and help figure out if there’s any underlying cause that needs addressing, like a systemic infection or autoimmune condition.
