baby indigestion natural remedy - #18572

Ayush

I am kinda worried about my baby. He’s been fussy and it seems like he’s struggling with baby indigestion after every feed. I mean, I’ve tried burping him, and even the whole “keep him upright” thing, but nothing really seems to help. Last night was especially bad—he was screaming for what felt like hours. I've read a bit about baby indigestion natural remedy options, but I’m honestly overwhelmed. Some friends suggested warm chamomile tea, but I’m not sure if that's safe for such a little one. I even thought about using a warm compress on his belly—like, does that really work for baby indigestion? And what are some other baby indigestion natural remedy ideas? I worry that it might be something else too, like allergies or whatever, but then again, it might just be typical baby stuff. Should I give him anything different in his diet or just wait it out? I just want him to feel better, you know? Any suggestions from you guys on baby indigestion natural remedy stuff that actually works? Please help!

It sounds like you’re dealing with a difficult situation, and there’re a few practical steps you can try to help ease your baby’s indigestion. The idea of warm compresses is a simple and commonly recommended home remedy that you can try—apply a warm, not hot, washcloth to your baby’s tummy to help relax their abdominal muscles. Ensure it’s not too warm by testing it against your own skin first. Holding your baby upright after feeding, as you’ve tried, is key to help reduce the air they might swallow during feeds. Continue burping your baby gently and frequently, even in the middle of feeding, as this can often help prevent gas buildup. Chamomile tea isn’t generally recommended for infants, particularly those under six months old, as their digestive systems are still developing, and it could introduce allergens or other compounds that may not be safe for them. If you’re breastfeeding, examining your own diet to see if anything there could be affecting your baby might be another approach since certain foods can sometimes trigger indigestion in some infants. On the other hand, if your baby is formula-fed, discussing with a pediatrician about switching formulas might be helpful. Regarding allergies or more serious issues: if your baby has other accompanying symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, skin rashes, or seems to be consistently in pain, it would be wise to check in with a healthcare provider. They can rule out any underlying conditions like a milk protein intolerance or gastroesophageal reflux. In the scenario that symptoms persist or worsen, professional medical advice will be crucial to ensuring your baby’s health and comfort.
