how much time multani mitti take to work - #24431

Navya

I am really curious about something and hope someone here can help. I started using multani mitti for my skin, like the past couple weeks, and I keep wondering how much time multani mitti take to work. My skin has been acting up lately—way too oily and these annoying breakouts popping up. I read somewhere that multani mitti can help absorb excess oil and clear up the skin, but I'm not sure how long I should expect to see results. I've been applying it twice a week, mixing it with some rosewater, but I rly want to know if that's enough. Few friends say they seen results in just a few days when using multani mitti, and others say it took them months?! I guess Im just impatient, u know? Like, how much time multani mitti take to work for different skin types? And is my routine good? Should I be adding anything else? Just trying to not mess things up more but feel real confused. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Multani mitti, or Fuller’s Earth, is a clay commonly used for skin care because of its oil-absorbing and astringent properties. The time it takes to “work” can vary depending on individual skin type and the specific issue at hand. For some, initial improvements, like reduced oiliness or the skin feeling fresher, may be noticed after a few uses, particularly if it’s used consistently, around twice a week like you’re doing. However, more notable changes, such as reduction in breakouts, might take several weeks. Continue using it as part of your routine, but be patient. If after a month or so you see no improvement, or if your skin feels overly dry or irritated, it may be worth consulting a dermatologist. They can assess whether you need a different approach or if there’s a specific underlying cause for your oily skin and breakouts. Adding rosewater to the mix is a good choice, as it’s soothing and toning, but ensure your skin is clean before application, and rinse thoroughly after about 10-15 minutes to avoid over-drying. Be cautious not to overuse it, as it could cause dryness and potentially increase oil production as your skin compensates. If you want to enhance the routine, consider a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer to balance the skin’s moisture levels afterwards. Also, observe your diet and lifestyle, as hydration, balanced nutrition, and avoiding excessive stress can be crucial when managing skin health. Remember, everyone’s skin is different, so what works for one person might not be as quick or effective for someone else. If the issue progresses or worsens, it is always best to seek professional medical advice to rule out more complex conditions.
