why hair fall from roots - #25204

Agastya

I am really getting worried about my hair fall. Over the last few months, it seems like I'm losing heaps of hair, and I can't figure out why. I mean, I wake up and find strands everywhere — on my pillow, in the shower, just everywhere! At first, I thought it was just stress since I've got a lot going on with work and family, but now I'm wondering if it's something more serious. I went to a doctor and they mentioned something about why hair fall from roots might be happening due to hormonal changes or even my diet. I tried changing my eating habits, adding more veggies and proteins, but still no luck! I seriously don’t want to end up bald or something. Sometimes, I feel like it might be the shampoo I'm using; maybe I'm allergic or something? Does anyone have insight on why hair fall from roots is so common these days? Has anyone else felt like they’ve tried everything and still faced this issue? It's just frustrating not knowing if there’s a fix or if I have to deal with this forever. Maybe it's genetic? Or could my anxiety make it worse? I’m open to any advice, please!

Hair fall from the roots can definitely be unsettling but understanding the underlying causes can help you manage it better. The roots, or follicles, are the source where hair growth begins, and various factors can disrupt this process. Hormonal changes are a common cause, often related to conditions like thyroid imbalances, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or even natural hormonal shifts like pregnancy or menopause. These can affect hair growth cycles, causing increased shedding. Your mention of diet is crucial too; nutrients such as iron, zinc, and vitamin D play significant roles in hair health. A deficiency in these can lead to hair thinning. High levels of stress and anxiety might exacerbate the issue by pushing hair into the shedding phase prematurely, known as telogen effluvium. Genetics also can’t be ignored, as they dictate the pattern and aggressiveness of hair loss for many individuals. Regarding your concern about shampoo, while allergies can cause scalp irritation, they’re less commonly a direct cause of hair fall from the roots. It’s good to use a mild shampoo that suits your hair type and doesn’t irritate the scalp. I’d recommend getting a thorough check-up with a dermatologist; they might perform tests or a scalp biopsy to determine the exact cause. Meanwhile, continue focusing on a balanced diet and minimizing stress through techniques like yoga or meditation might be beneficial. If you’re open to it, therapies like minoxidil could be discussed with your doctor to promote hair regrowth. It’s essential not to self-diagnose with genetic conditions and get medical confirmation. While it’s frustrating, with professional help, manageable actions can be identified to address the problem effectively.
