is mamaearth face wash good - #26549
I am kind of in a panic over my skin lately. I started using this new skincare line, and a friend recommended mamaearth face wash, saying it works wonders. I’ve only been using it for about a week but honestly, I’m not sure if it’s helping or making things worse. My skin feels kinda tight and I’ve noticed some little bumps appearing, which is super frustrating! Like, I was hoping this mamaearth face wash would clear things up, not create more issues, ya know? I checked the ingredients and it says it’s all-natural, which sounded great at first, but now I'm wondering, is mamaearth face wash good for sensitive skin or just for people with oily skin? I tend to have a mix of both, sometimes it’s oily and other times it’s kinda dry, ugh. Also, anyone else experience breakouts when starting a new face wash, or am I just being paranoid? Should I stick with the mamaearth face wash or try something else? Should I give it more time, or just admit it’s not for me? Help, please!

Doctors' responses
It’s understandably tricky when you start a new skincare product and your skin doesn’t react the way you’d hoped. Mamaearth face wash, like many skincare products marketed as “all-natural”, can still cause reactions, especially if your skin is sensitive or mixed-type like yours. The tightness and bumpiness you’re describing could be indicating that your skin is not agreeing with one or more of the ingredients, even if they’re natural. This reaction might suggest mild irritation or even an allergic response. Skincare is quite personal, and everyone’s skin can react differently to the same product. Breakouts or skin issues can sometimes occur when starting a new product—a phenomenon known as purging, especially with products aiming to deeply cleanse or exfoliate, but in some cases, it might simply be irritation. If these bumps persist or worsen, it could be a sign that the product isn’t suitable for your skin. Given your combination skin, you may benefit from a formulation that’s specifically labeled for sensitive or combination skin, ideally something with a low pH to avoid stripping natural oils and moisture. It’s reasonable to stop using the mamaearth face wash for a period to see if your skin’s condition improves. Simple adjustments like using a gentle cleanser free from fragrances along with moisturizer designed for sensitive skin may provide relief and better support your skin’s natural balance. If you find no improvement or if the issues become more pronounced, it may be wise to consult a dermatologist to determine the best action steps and to ensure that something external isn’t irritating your skin unnecessarily.
