Doctors’ responses

Considering your symptoms, it’s essential to maintain a consistent skincare routine tailored to your needs. For the whiteheads on your nose and chin, start by using a salicylic acid cleanser. This ingredient penetrates deep into pores, helping to clear out the debris causing your whiteheads. Use it twice daily, once in the morning and once before bed. For your chin’s recurring pimples that leave dark spots, consider incorporating a topical treatment with benzoyl peroxide. It will help reduce pimple-causing bacteria and treat inflammation. Apply this sparingly once a day to the affected areas, as it can be drying. For persistent dark spots, using products with ingredients like niacinamide or glycolic acid can help with hyperpigmentation over time—apply them before your moisturizer. With blackheads on your cheeks and forehead, gentle exfoliation is key. Use an exfoliant with alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) around two to three times a week, but not more, to avoid irritation. Regarding your scalp, which gets dry and itchy after two days, switching to a dandruff shampoo containing ketoconazole or selenium sulfide might relieve the itch and address the dryness. Use it two to three times a week depending on your hair texture. Now, for whiteheads on your chin, make sure to avoid squeezing or picking them, as this can worsen the issue or transfer bacteria. If your pimples frequently have pus, it might be advisable to see a dermatologist for potential prescription treatments that could be more effective, like topical or oral antibiotics. Also, consider reviewing your diet and lifestyle factors like stress levels or lack of sleep, as these can influence your skin condition. If any of these treatments lead to continued irritation, redness, or worsening symptoms, consult a healthcare provider to reassess your strategy.
