Liver doctor delhi - #12062

Kashvi

I am really worried about my health and need some advice fast. A few weeks ago, I started feeling this horrible pain in my upper abdomen, right under my ribs, and it just won’t go away. I also noticed that my skin has this weird yellowish tint, which freaked me out even more. I managed to get some blood tests done, and my doctor mentioned something about my liver functions being off. Now I’m trying to figure out what to do next. I’ve heard people talk about seeing a liver doctor in Delhi since I live here, but I’m not really sure how to choose the right one. What should I even look for in a liver doctor in Delhi? Does anyone have tips or recommendations?? It’s hard to think straight with all this going on. The waiting just makes everything worse! Plus, will a liver doctor in Delhi do all the tests again or will they just work off the results I already have? I really wanna know if they can help me figure out what’s wrong and what next steps I need to take, because the uncertainty is killing me. Please, any guidance on finding a good liver doctor in Delhi would be so helpful! I'm just scared and kind of lost right now.

Doctors’ responses

Given your symptoms of upper abdominal pain and jaundice, alongside abnormal liver function tests, it’s crucial to see a hepatologist, which is a liver specialist, as soon as possible. In Delhi, there are several renowned medical institutions and specialists. When choosing a liver doctor, consider their qualifications, experience, and patient reviews. Look for a hepatologist associated with a reputable hospital, as this can indicate a solid background and access to comprehensive diagnostic tools. A good starting point could be major hospitals like AIIMS, Medanta, or Apollo Medics, which are known for their experienced specialists. Given the seriousness of your symptoms, you might want to prioritize a specialist with a focus on diagnosing and managing liver conditions. They will likely review your existing test results but may also recommend additional tests like imaging, liver biopsy, or further blood tests to better understand your condition. It’s important to get a detailed evaluation to address the root cause of your symptoms. If scheduling appointments is difficult, try contacting the hospital’s gastroenterology department directly for guidance. In the meantime, avoid alcohol, maintain a healthy diet, and take note of any other symptoms that arise. However, don’t delay getting professional evaluation. Immediate attention and diagnosis can greatly influence your treatment plan and health outcome.
