after applying curd on hair how to wash - #23257

Nisha

I am having this weird situation. Few days ago, I tried applying curd on my hair since I heard it's good for conditioning and stuff but now I’m not sure how to wash it out properly. I mean, after applying curd on hair, how to wash? The first time I tried just rinsing it with water and my hair felt super greasy, like just way too much left in there. So then I thought maybe I should use shampoo right after, but it was like my hair didn’t wanna cooperate. Do I need to wait like a while before rinsing, or does it need a specific type shampoo? I read somewhere that after applying curd on hair, how to wash can really impact the overall effect, so now I’m kinda worried I messed it up. And the texture is just feeling weird… I don’t wanna keep trying it out all wrong and ruin my hair! If anyone has actual advice on this or anything that worked for them, please share. After applying curd on hair, how to wash could really make a difference, right? It just feels frustrating not getting it right.

When you’ve applied curd to your hair, here’s a straightforward approach to washing it out effectively without leaving residue or making your hair feel greasy. First, let the curd sit on your hair for about 30 minutes; ensuring that it’s not longer than an hour as over time it could start to dry and harden, making it tougher to remove. Once it’s time to wash it out, start by rinsing your hair with lukewarm water—avoid hot water as it can cook the curd and make the smell linger. Lukewarm water helps in loosening the curd from your hair. Before reaching for the shampoo, make sure you’ve rinsed thoroughly, as removing as much curd as possible with water makes the next steps easier.

After rinsing, you can apply a mild shampoo, which is effective without being too harsh on your hair. Use a generous amount of shampoo, gently massaging it into your scalp and hair to work through any lingering curd. This might require a couple of rounds of shampooing, especially if the first leaves your hair feeling sticky or greasy. Following the shampoo, a lightweight conditioner can help restore moisture balance, but be cautious not to use too much.

If, after these steps, your hair still feels different than usual, consider switching to a clarifying shampoo once or twice a month, as it’s designed to remove product buildup. Keep in mind that everyone’s hair reacts differently to homemade remedies like curd, so if you notice persistent greasiness or other unmanageable changes, it might be beneficial to explore other natural conditioners like aloe vera or simply stick to your regular conditioning routine.
