is dahi good for hair - #23386

Swara

I am really confused about something and hoping you can help me out here. I’ve been trying to find ways to improve my hair health since I noticed it’s been looking super dull and stressed lately, like it’s just… not what it used to be, you know? I heard someone mention that is dahi good for hair and it got me thinking, could it really help? My mom used to use it all the time when I was a kid but I never thought much about it back then. I read online that is dahi good for hair because it makes it shiny and strong — but like, how does that even work? I tried making a hair mask with dahi last week, and while it felt kinda nice, I don’t know if it did anything. Should I be using it more regularly or mixing it with something else to get better results? One of my friends said that is dahi good for hair because of the probiotics or something, but is there any science behind any of that? I’m just scared I’m wasting time on this when there might be some other solution out there. Any tips or experiences with is dahi good for hair?

Dahi, or yogurt, is often touted as a natural remedy for improving hair health, and there are a few reasons this might have some merit. Yogurt is rich in protein, which is a major building block of hair, and it also contains lactic acid that might help to cleanse the scalp and promote blood circulation. However, the scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness of yogurt on hair health specifically is quite limited. That said, using a yogurt hair mask occasionally can provide some conditioning benefits due to its moisture content. The probiotics in yogurt are more related to gut health than hair health, so their benefits don’t directly translate to hair application. Still, it’s possible that maintaining good gut health could indirectly benefit hair if it leads to better nutrient absorption overall.

For practical use, you might try mixing dahi with other ingredients known to benefit hair, like honey for moisture or coconut oil for added softness. Applying this mixture once a week could be a reasonable routine to see if it improves hair texture and appearance. Be sure to rinse thoroughly after 20-30 minutes to avoid any residue that could weigh your hair down. If you’re not seeing the desired results or if you’re concerned about wasting time on this, consider focusing on your overall diet, ensuring adequate intake of vitamins and minerals like biotin, zinc, and iron, which are linked to hair health. Hair changes can also result from stress, medical conditions, or medication, so if adjustments in diet or topical treatments like dahi masks don’t yield improvements, it may be worth consulting a healthcare professional to explore other potential causes or treatments.
