The issues you’re facing with hair growth and thickness can often result from a combination of factors like genetics, nutrition, and hair care practices. Let’s focus first on addressing the dry scalp and split ends, both of which can impede healthy hair growth. Begin by evaluating your diet to ensure you’re getting adequate vitamins and minerals essential for hair health—specifically iron, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids along with vitamins D, E, and biotin. Consider using a sulfate-free, moisturizing shampoo to help with dryness and try applying a conditioner regularly to nourish ends and reduce brittleness. For deeper nourishment, using a weekly treatment like a hot oil massage with coconut or argan oil may help improve scalp condition and enhance the hair’s texture.

Avoid heat styling tools as excessive heat can exacerbate dryness and increase split ends. Likewise, manage your hair gently, using a wide-tooth comb to reduce breakage. When it comes to home remedies, if they haven’t been effective, it might be worth exploring topical treatments containing minoxidil—though it’s typically used under dermatological advice. These products can stimulate hair growth and improve scalp health. If your efforts prove ineffective, consult a dermatologist or trichologist who may recommend more targeted treatments or investigate possible underlying conditions like hormonal imbalances or thyroid issues. Also, consider planning regular trims every 6-8 weeks to maintain the end’s health and consult a specialist to customize your approach based on individual hair and scalp condition.
