how to apply aloevera on face - #14287

Janvi

I am trying to figure out how to apply aloevera on face, cause I’ve heard it's supposed to do wonders for skin. My sister swears by it, and she has such clear skin! Last month, I had this horrible breakout out of nowhere — I’ve never had anything like it, like cystic acne and it's been stressing me out like crazy, ugh. I read online that applying aloevera on face can help with scarring too, and I’ve got some nasty marks left. I bought this legit aloevera gel from a local shop, but I’m unsure how to use it properly. Should I just slather it on? Or do I need to do something special before applying aloevera on face? Like, do I need to cleanse first or something? I've tried putting it directly from the plant before, but it felt kinda sticky and I'm not sure if I did that right. Is it okay to use it every day? I guess another concern is if I should test it on a small area first or not. I just want clear skin and I’m tired of all these products that don’t work. Anyone help me out here—how to apply aloevera on face for best results?

Applying aloe vera on your face can indeed be beneficial, especially if you’re dealing with acne or scarring, but it’s important to apply it right to get the best results. First, you should always start with a clean slate, so make sure to gently cleanse your face with a mild cleanser to remove any dirt and oils. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel and don’t rub to avoid further irritation. If you’re using an aloe vera gel from a store, check the label to ensure it doesn’t have additional ingredients that might irritate your skin. If you’ve used fresh aloe from the plant before, that’s great, just scrape the gel out and make sure it’s free of any latex or yellow sap which can irritate skin.

Do a patch test first, try a little bit on your inner forearm and wait 24 hours to see if you get any adverse reactions like redness or itching. Application-wise, take a small amount of the gel and gently apply a thin layer over your entire face, being careful to avoid the eyes. It’s normal for it to feel a bit sticky until it dries. Allow it to absorb into your skin, which usually takes about 10-15 minutes, then you can rinse if desired, or simply leave it on, especially if you prefer using it at night. It’s typically safe to use aloe vera daily, and for acne as well as for those stubborn scars, it can help by promoting healing and reducing inflammation and redness. However, introducing it slowly, such as every other day initially, will help you observe your skin’s reaction.

If after consistent use your skin becomes irritated, discontinue use and consult a dermatologist as the issue could be more complex than just the usual acne or scarring. That way, you can ensure you’re not missing a necessary medical treatment while using aloe. Remember, aloe vera is beneficial, but proper skin care involves a holistic approach as well, so balance it with good hydration, nutrition, sun protection, and possibly conventional treatments if this doesn’t solve the issue.
