how to remove pimple marks in one day - #16017

Parthiv

I am kinda stressed about this pimple situation. Okay, like last week I got this huge pimple out of nowhere, right on my cheek. I mean, just one and of course, it’s super noticeable. I popped it, which I know is like totally a bad idea, but it’s done and now I see this ugly mark that just won’t go away. I really need to know how to remove pimple marks in one day because I have this big event tonight and I wanna look decent. I’ve tried some creams but they don’t seem to work instantly or even fast enough! I read online about using lemon juice — is that really a thing? Also, what about toothpaste? I’m just desperate to get rid of this mark and I don’t want to hide it with makeup. So, can anyone please share how to remove pimple marks in one day? Will ice cubes help? I also saw something about honey or vitamin E, does that really help? Like, I'm willing to do anything at this point but I really thought these marks would go away faster! I don't wanna be that person with a pimple mark at an event, ya know? Please, any fast tips would be super awesome!

Doctors’ responses

It’s really common to want quick solutions for pimple marks, but eliminating them completely in one day is challenging. Acne marks can persist due to inflammation and the skin’s natural healing process, which typically takes time. Prevention of additional irritation is crucial, so be cautious with some DIY methods you may have come across like lemon juice or toothpaste, which can actually aggravate your skin further. Instead, here’s a more targeted approach for immediate improvement. First, apply ice wrapped in a clean cloth to the area for a few minutes every hour. This can reduce inflammation and make any redness less noticeable. Next, using an over-the-counter hydroquinone cream might be effective if you’ve used it before without concerns, as it can lighten hyperpigmentation. However, it doesn’t work instantly. If you’re familiar with salicylic acid products, these can help the skin renew faster but should be used cautiously given your timeframe. For a smoother look by tonight, consider using a green-tinted primer cosmetically rather than skipping makeup entirely. It neutralizes redness and helps even skin tone before applying a very light layer of foundation or BB cream suitable for sensitive skin. Lastly, avoid any untested remedies like honey or vitamin E as they aren’t proven to work quickly and might cause irritation. Much of this is about managing the appearance rather than complete removal in such a short period. Long-term approaches typically include a considered regimen to prevent and fade marks over time, potentially involving products with glycolic acid or retinoids. Consulting a dermatologist will offer comprehensive guidance and is beneficial for establishing a strategy tailored to your skin type and needs. If you notice any signs of infection, worsening redness, or pain, it’s important to seek professional medical advice promptly.
