how to use curd for hair growth - #22887

Aadhyant

I am really struggling with my hair lately. It’s been thinning out, and I’ve tried so many things, but nothing seems to work. My friend suggested I should look into how to use curd for hair growth, saying it did wonders for her. I don’t know, it feels like a long shot, but I’m desperate! She mentioned applying curd (like just plain yogurt, right?) to the scalp and hair as a mask. But how to use curd for hair growth, exactly? Should I just smear it all over? How long should I leave it in there? And does it really help with dry scalp or is that just a myth? Also, do I need to mix anything else with it or just use curd alone? I’m worried it’ll be too heavy or something. I read somewhere that it's supposed to make hair stronger and shinier, but I honestly don't want to make it worse. Can someone share their experiences on how to use curd for hair growth or if they found it -- effective? I really need my thick hair back! Also, if there’s any specific type of curd that’s better to use? Ugh, so many questions. Thanks!

When it comes to using curd or plain yogurt for hair growth, it’s important to have realistic expectations. Curd can be effective as a hair conditioner, and it may help with scalp health, which in turn, might contribute to overall hair health. However, it is not a miracle solution for hair thinning, which often requires a broader approach. The proteins and lactic acid in yogurt can help moisturize the scalp and reduce dandruff, which may give the appearance of healthier hair.

To use curd effectively, you can start by applying plain, unsweetened curd directly to your scalp and hair. Using your fingers, gently massage the curd into your scalp and ensure it’s evenly distributed through your hair. It’s generally a good idea to leave the curd mask on for about 20-30 minutes before rinsing thoroughly with lukewarm water. Some people like to enhance the mask by mixing in other ingredients like honey or aloe vera for additional moisture, or fenugreek powder for its potential hair-strengthening properties, but keep it simple at first to see how your scalp reacts.

Be aware that curd may not be suitable for everyone; if you notice any irritation or if your hair feels excessively greasy after use, it may not be right for your hair type. Try to use curd once a week and assess the effects over time. If your hair thinning is severe or accompanied by other symptoms like itchiness or bald spots, it might be time to consult a dermatologist or healthcare professional. Factors like hormone imbalance, diet, and stress can also significantly impact hair health and may require a more comprehensive intervention. Remember, patience and consistency are key, but professional guidance should be sought if there’s no improvement over time or if you’re concerned about underlying health issues.
