does amla juice delay periods - #24426

Aadhyant

I am 29 and I've been trying to get my cycles back on track since they’ve been kinda erratic lately. Almost 2 months ago my doctor mentioned that stress could be a factor, which totally makes sense with my crazy work schedule and everything. A few weeks ago, I started drinking amla juice after hearing from a friend it’s really healthy and thought it might help with overall wellness, you know? But um, now I'm worried because I read online that does amla juice delay periods? Like, seriously? After starting it, I've noticed my period hasn’t shown up and I really thought it was due, but now I’m thinking could it be the amla juice messing with my cycle? I didn’t have this issue before and I also sometimes have cramps but that’s about it. Plus, I’ve been trying to follow a more balanced diet and exercise more, which I figured would help. It's just a bit stressful, honestly, and I’m freaking out a little if this is because of what I’ve been drinking. Does amla juice delay periods? Has anyone had a similar experience? Do you think I should stop the juice or try something else? Any thoughts would really help!

There’s no strong evidence to suggest that amla juice directly causes any delay in menstrual periods. Amla, or Indian gooseberry, is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine and is generally considered safe and beneficial for overall health due to its high vitamin C content and antioxidant properties. However, it’s quite unlikely that amla juice alone would be the primary factor causing irregularities in your menstrual cycle. Stress is a well-known contributor to menstrual irregularities, so it’s possible that your intense work schedule could be affecting your cycle more than the amla juice. Additionally, dietary changes and increased physical activity, while generally beneficial for health, can also sometimes lead to temporary changes in your cycle as your body adjusts. If you’ve made several lifestyle changes at once, it could be a combination of factors influencing your periods.

Since menstrual irregularities continue to be a concern, it would be a good idea to keep track of your cycles and any additional symptoms you experience, such as cramps or other changes. If the irregularities persist or if you are feeling significantly stressed or concerned, I recommend following up with your healthcare provider to further evaluate and rule out any other underlying health issues. They might suggest further investigations like checking your thyroid function, hormone levels, or other relevant tests as necessary. Meanwhile, maintaining a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and stress management techniques like yoga or mindfulness exercises can promote a balanced cycle. If you find amla juice enjoyable, there’s no immediate reason to stop, but you could try taking a break to see if there’s any noticeable difference. Keep in mind that consulting with a healthcare professional familiar with your medical history remains the best course for personalized advice.
