If your daughter’s cough is persisting and getting worse with physical activity, there might be several underlying causes to consider. Since you’re mentioning she’s already on medication for the past few days without improvement, it’s important to re-evaluate her situation. One possibility could be exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, also known as exercise-induced asthma. Other conditions like postnasal drip, gastroesophageal reflux disease, or chronic infections might be contributing to her symptoms too. It’s essential to make sure there are no environmental triggers—like exposure to smoke, strong odors, or allergens—that could be aggravating her cough. Infections like whooping cough or primary care physician should also be ruled out if she hasn’t been vaccinated or exposed recently. If her symptoms continue or if you notice any new signs like difficulty breathing, wheezing, or fever, a follow-up visit to the pediatrician would be advisable to reconsider the diagnosis and management plan. Additional tests such as lung function tests or an X-ray might be required to get a better look at what might be happening. In the meantime, try to maintain a calm environment, avoid activities that trigger coughing, and keep her well-hydrated. Tracking her symptoms daily can provide valuable information at her next appointment. Please act promptly if she shows any distressing signs, and contact healthcare services for urgent evaluation if necessary.
