Doctors' responses

Swelling, changes in color, and pain in your left leg combined with pain spreading to other body parts could indicate a serious condition that needs prompt medical attention. The symptoms you’re describing, particularly the swelling and discoloration of your leg, could be related to a blood clot, such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which requires immediate evaluation. DVT can lead to serious complications if not treated, such as a pulmonary embolism, so it’s crucial to act quickly. Other possibilities could be related to infections, or other vascular issues, but given the specific symptoms, DVT should be ruled out first. You should visit an emergency room or an urgent care facility as soon as possible to get a proper diagnosis. They can perform essential diagnostic tests like an ultrasound of the leg to check for clots or other issues. In the meantime, avoid massaging the area to prevent any potential clots from moving, don’t take any medications including painkillers without consulting a healthcare provider, and try to keep your leg elevated if possible. Often, anticoagulant medication is necessary if DVT is confirmed, and this needs a prescription and monitoring by a doctor. It’s very important not to delay seeking medical advice, as swift treatment can prevent complications.
