What could be causing sudden numbness on the left side of my body at 14 years old? - #30662
Hello Doctor, I am 14 years old. Yesterday I had two episodes of numbness on the left side of my body. The first episode happened around 6:00 PM, and the second happened around 5:00 AM. The numbness started suddenly and affected the left side of my face and tongue. During one episode, I had mild difficulty speaking for a few seconds. The numbness then spread gradually through my left arm and up toward my shoulder, and later disappeared completely. I do not have a history of migraines, and I did not have a headache, dizziness, or vision problems during these episodes. I use my phone for more than 11 hours a day on average, and I usually stay awake until Fajr (dawn) before going to sleep. I have been symptom-free for several hours now, except for mild pain in my shoulder. What could be causing these symptoms, and should I seek urgent medical evaluation?
