I am trying to figure out how to protect myself from cold and cough because it feels like every winter I just get hit by everything around. Like last year, I caught a nasty cold that lasted way too long, and I was miserable with a sore throat and non-stop coughing. It just was awful. This year, I thought I was being smart. I've been taking vitamin C, washing my hands a million times a day, and trying to avoid crowded places. But still, I’m hearing all these stories from friends about how they got sick anyway. I even bought a humidifier for my room but I’m not sure if it's really making a difference. Can anyone tell me how to protect yourself from cold and cough better? Like do I need to be wearing a scarf or something? Or is there a specific kinda tea that's supposed to be good? Also, I’m starting to think about what to eat... does that really matter? I mean, I’ve heard lots of stuff, but what actually works to protect from cold and cough? Any tips or tricks that are really effective would be super helpful because I can’t stand being sick anymore!

It’s not just about one specific “trick” but rather a comprehensive and consistent lifestyle approach to staying well.
