face milk cream - #13148
I am really confused about this new face milk cream I just started using. A couple weeks ago, my friend recommended it to me and she swears by it. I was super skeptical at first like, how can a face milk cream really do that much for your skin? My face has been kinda dry and rough lately, and I thought, ok, why not give it a shot? Since I’m in my 30s now, trying to take care of my skin better, right? Anyway, I’ve been using this milk cream for about a week, and I don’t know if I'm imagining things, but my skin does feel a bit softer? Or maybe that's just hope talking. But then—I had this weird reaction yesterday where my cheeks got kinda itchy after I applied it. Is that normal? I thought face milk cream was supposed to be gentle and hydrating? Ugh, should I stop using it? The last thing I want is a breakout or something! Has anyone else had any similar experiences with face milk cream? I mean, does it usually take like weeks to see decent results, or should it be more noticeable right away? Sometimes I feel like all this skin care stuff is just a big gamble! Would love to hear your thoughts!

Doctors’ responses
It sounds like you’re navigating the world of skincare, and face milk creams can indeed be a bit of a mystery at first. Generally, face milk creams are formulated to be gentle and hydrating, as they’re typically rich in moisturizing ingredients. The fact that you noticed an initial improvement in skin softness is a good sign; often, the moisturizing effects can be felt quite quickly. However, the itching you’ve experienced suggests that something in the cream could be irritating your skin. It’s possible to have a mild reaction to certain ingredients, even in products that are marketed as gentle. Skincare reactions can vary widely among individuals, depending on skin sensitivity and specific components in the product. Given the itching, it could be wise to pause using the product for a few days to see if your skin calms down. Doing a patch test on another part of your body (like the inside of your wrist) can help identify whether the cream is causing the irritation. If the itching persists or worsens, it’s best to discontinue use entirely. As for results, some creams take a few weeks to see significant improvements, especially when it comes to longer-term effects like skin texture and tone. But any immediate adverse reactions should not be overlooked in hope of better results. If you experience breakouts or increased irritation, seeing a dermatologist could provide more insight into what specifically might be disagreeing with your skin. Always prioritize products and routines that your skin is consistently comfortable with to avoid further complications.
