can we use face pack after bleach - #19611

Ishaan

I am a bit confused about skincare, especially after a recent experience with bleach on my face. A few days ago, I decided to get a facial treatment, and the beautician used bleach to lighten some of the darker spots on my cheeks. Honestly, I was a little nervous about the whole bleach process but figured I’d trust the pro. After that, my skin felt super sensitive and just kinda raw, you know? Like I can almost feel every tiny breeze on my skin. Now I'm tempted to ask, can we use face pack after bleach? I mean, I’ve read online that certain face packs can be soothing, but what if I’m just making my skin madder? I really want to try a hydrating face pack to calm down the irritation but is that even okay post-bleaching? And like, how soon can I do it after the bleach? I don’t wanna risk any weird reactions or damaging my skin further. Should I look for anything specific in a face pack or just stay away from them altogether for now? Just really unsure about this whole thing and any advice would be super helpful!

It’s reasonable to be cautious about putting more products on your face after a bleach treatment, especially given how sensitive your skin is now. Generally, it is advisable to let your skin recover a bit post-bleach before applying additional products. Your skin is more vulnerable and can react adversely to further substances. If you choose to use a face pack, opt for one with gentle, soothing ingredients like aloe vera, chamomile, or cucumber, which may help calm irritation and provide hydration without aggravating the sensitivity. However, it is crucial to avoid face packs containing active ingredients like acids or strong fragrances since these could exacerbate irritation and discomfort. Ideally, you should wait at least 24 to 48 hours post-bleaching before trying a new product. Ensure your skin has calmed down and observe if the sensitivity subsides within this timeframe. This waiting period helps in reducing the risk of potential reactions and allows your skin’s natural barrier to regain some balance. In the meantime, focus on using a non-comedogenic and gentle moisturizer to maintain hydration and promote healing. Drinking plenty of water will also support internal hydration. Additionally, ensure you use a high-SPF sunscreen when going outdoors, as bleached skin can be more prone to sun damage. If you notice any persistent redness, discomfort, or signs of an adverse reaction that don’t resolve, it might be wise to consult with a dermatologist for a more targeted management plan. They can assist in identifying the appropriate products for your skin type and concerns. Also, this is if you’re planning more bleaching in the future, consider discussing it with a professional who can offer alternatives less prone to causing such sensitivity.
