does sperm increase height - #22350
I am always thinking about growth and height, especially since I hit my late teens and I’m a bit taller than my friends, but sometimes I wonder if there's more to it. Like, I heard a random rumor the other day that does sperm increase height? Sounds super weird, right? But I've been doing some research and there are these claims that somehow relate sperm and growth, and I just can’t wrap my head around it. I mean, I was 5'6" in high school and now I'm almost 5'9", so does that mean my growth plates are still active? Or could it have anything to do with the fact that I am getting older? I went through puberty a bit late; my friends were all taller than me for years, but now I’m catching up. It just seems odd to me that sperm would have any effect on height whatsoever. Can anyone explain if there’s any science behind this whole does sperm increase height thing? I really need some clarity on what’s true and what’s just, like, nonsense. I only ask because, you know, I’ve heard it from some friends and I don’t want to believe something that might be totally off base. Thank you for any input, appreciate it!

There is no scientific evidence that sperm has any effect on increasing height. Height is determined primarily by genetics and factors like nutrition, overall health, and the timing of developmental milestones such as puberty. During puberty, growth spurts are typical as the growth plates (epiphyseal plates) in the long bones are still active. Once these growth plates close, usually in the late teens or early twenties, further height increase is unlikely. If you’ve noticed a recent increase in height, it could simply be due to the natural continuation of your growth phase or a late growth spurt, which is not uncommon. Since you mentioned starting puberty later than your peers, it’s possible your growth plates remained open longer, allowing for more growth in height. The spread of rumors like “sperm increasing height” is likely rooted in misunderstanding or anecdotal observations without scientific backing. It’s always good to be curious and do your research, but in this case, it’s safe to conclude that sperm does not contribute to height growth. If you’re concerned about your growth or overall health, it might be worth consulting with a healthcare provider who can address these topics with more specific attention to your individual development history and any other health concerns. They can provide detailed insight into your growth potential, check for any health-related influences, and discuss factors that genuinely contribute to height. This might include a look at nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle choices, which can all indirectly support healthy growth and development alongside your genetic potential.
