how much time to apply curd on hair - #22568
I am kinda in a bit of a hair crisis right now and need some advice from you all. My hair has been feeling super dry and brittle lately, and I remembered some friends talking about using curd for hair. I decided to try it out. I mixed some curd with a bit of honey and applied it last night. The thing is, I'm not exactly sure how much time to apply curd on hair for the best results. I kept it on for about 30 minutes, but I feel like maybe I should’ve left it on longer? I just really wanna fix my hair and wasn’t sure if 30 minutes was enough or too much, y'know? Also, I read online that leaving curd in your hair overnight might be a thing, but I’m scared it’ll make my hair greasy or something. How much time to apply curd on hair to actually see a difference? I really don't want to mess it up more than it already is! Should I be consistent with it? Like, do I do this every week or is that too much? Just looking for any tips or insights here – thanks!

Applying curd on your hair can actually be a great natural remedy for dryness and brittleness because of its moisturizing properties. As for how long you should leave it in, 20 to 30 minutes is typically sufficient to allow the curd to work on your hair. Leaving it on longer, like overnight, might possibly lead to an oily residue, which is what you’re concerned about, and apart from that, it doesn’t necessarily increase the benefits from a moisture perspective. In general, you don’t need to extend beyond this duration.
For consistency, using a curd mask once a week is usually a reasonable routine. This can help maintain moisture without causing buildup that might weigh down the hair or lead to greasiness. Make sure to rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove all residue. Mixing it with honey, as you’ve done, is a great idea since honey adds additional hydration and shine.
One point to keep in mind is that if your hair is seriously damaged or you notice it worsening, it could be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider or a dermatologist. Sometimes underlying health issues, dietary deficiencies, or other factors might contribute to hair damage that may need more specialized care. Also, apart from using curd, protecting hair from excessive heat, harsh styling products, and sun exposure can promote healthier hair. Regular trims, staying hydrated, and a balanced diet can assist in maintaining hair health as well.
