can multani mitti remove acne scars - #24075

Hriday

I am really frustrated with my skin right now. For the past couple of years, I have been struggling with acne, and it left me with these stubborn scars all over my face. I've tried a bunch of creams and lotions, but honestly, nothing seems to really work. A friend of mine mentioned that multani mitti might help with clearing up the scars, like she swears by it. I know people say that it’s great for the skin and helps with oiliness and stuff, but I’m kinda skeptical. Can multani mitti remove acne scars? I read that it can also help in exfoliating and improving skin texture, but like, is it really effective for scars? I also worry about my sensitive skin reacting negatively to it, you know? I tried a little patch test, and I think it was okay but I’m too panic-y to go full on! Has anyone actually seen a difference with multani mitti specifically on acne scars? How often do you guys use it, and do you mix it with something else or just apply it on its own? I really need some help. Feeling kinda lost with all this!

Multani mitti, or Fuller’s Earth, is often marketed for its benefits in managing oily skin and general skincare; however, when it comes to removing acne scars, there isn’t strong scientific evidence to support its efficacy directly on scars. Mainly, multani mitti works by absorbing excess oils and has a mild exfoliating effect, which helps improve skin texture and potentially can reduce the appearance or dark spots over time. But in terms of significant scar reduction, more specialized treatments are typically needed. For acne scars, treatments like chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or laser therapy offered by dermatologists are often more effective. If you do want to try multani mitti, it’s typically mixed with water or rose water to form a paste and applied as a mask 1-2 times a week. Since you mentioned sensitive skin, it’s crucial to carefully monitor any reactions, as this clay might be overly drying, which can irritate sensitive skin. Look for redness or increased sensitivity and discontinue if it causes discomfort. It might also be beneficial to combine it with a soothing agent, like aloe vera, to balance its drying effect. However, given your concerns about sensitive skin, consulting with a dermatologist would ensure you adopt a routine that’s tailored to your skin’s needs and avoid exacerbating any existing issues. A professional can also recommend more effective, evidence-based treatments that would address your acne scars more directly.
