how to increase hair growth and volume - #25054

Navya

I am seriously freaking out over my hair situation. It’s been a couple of months now, and I've noticed my hair feels super thin and just lifeless! Like, I can’t even remember the last time someone complimented my locks, which is just sad. I’m 30, and I swear my mom’s hair was always so thick and gorgeous at my age. I've tried some shampoos claiming to help with how to increase hair growth and volume, but nothing’s changing. A friend told me to consider dietary changes, and I started munching on more veggies and nuts, thinking maybe that could help with how to increase hair growth and volume. Still feels like my hair is stuck in sad mode. I went to a salon where they suggested scalp treatments? Honestly, I'm not even sure if that would work. Are there any supplements or maybe oils that actually work for how to increase hair growth and volume? I’m getting desperate here. I wanna be able to style my hair without feeling like I'm just faking it. Any advice would be super appreciated, anything that has worked for you guys?

When it comes to increasing hair growth and volume, understanding the underlying causes can help in choosing the right approach. Hair thinning can be due to a variety of factors including genetics, hormonal imbalances, stress, nutritional deficiencies, or even certain medications. Since you’ve already started with dietary changes—upping veggies and nuts is a good step—you’ll also want to ensure you’re consuming enough protein and essential fatty acids, as these are crucial to hair health. Keep an eye on iron levels and vitamin D, as deficiencies might affect hair growth. A simple blood test can help identify any deficiencies. Supplements like biotin and zinc have been touted for improving hair health, but it’s important to note there’s mixed evidence, and you should check with healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.

Regarding oils, peppermint oil and rosemary oil have been shown in some studies to support hair growth when applied topically, improving circulation to the scalp. Mixing a few drops with a carrier oil like jojoba and gently massaging into scalp could be beneficial. As for shampoos and scalp treatments, they can sometimes help improve hair health and volume by keeping the scalp healthy, quite critical since the scalp environment impacts hair growth. Products containing minoxidil are approved for increasing hair growth but need consistent use and might not work for everyone. If hair loss tends to continue or worsen despite these measures, it’s a good idea to consult a dermatologist or a trichologist, who can provide more tailored recommendations and perhaps identify specific conditions such as androgenic alopecia or telogen effluvium. Remember it can take time for changes to manifest visibly.
