how to cure eye flu in one day

Arjun

I am dealing with this really annoying thing called eye flu and I’m just desperate to know how to cure eye flu in one day! It started a few days ago when my eyes just got super red and itchy, and I thought it was just allergies or something. But then my eyelids got puffy like I couldn’t even open them fully! I went to the doc and they said it's likely viral conjunctivitis, basically eye flu, and the wait can be a week or more before it gets better. I've been using cold compresses and some artificial tears to help with the discomfort, but honestly, it’s so frustrating! I can't focus on work or even read without feeling discomfort. I’ve heard people talk about how to cure eye flu in one day, like using certain drops or home remedies or stuff, but I’m not sure what’s really effective. Does anybody know any quick fixes or treatments that work? I’m kind of freaking out here! Like, how to cure eye flu in one day really sounds too good to be true, but I’ll try anything at this point. Also, is there a way to prevent it from spreading to my other eye or to family members? Thanks in advance for any help with this — really appreciate the tips!

Curing viral conjunctivitis, or eye flu, in just one day is, unfortunately, not feasible. With viral infections, the body typically needs time to fight off the virus, and symptoms can last from several days to a couple of weeks. However, there are steps you can take to manage symptoms and prevent spreading it to others. First, continue with the cold compresses and artificial tears as these can help soothe the irritation and provide some relief from dryness. To prevent the spread, maintain good hygiene practices such as washing your hands frequently with soap and water. Avoid touching your eyes and refrain from sharing towels, pillows, or other personal items with others. It’s also a good idea to regularly clean surfaces that you touch often, such as countertops and door handles.

As for preventing it from spreading to your other eye, be mindful of using different cotton pads or tissues on each eye when applying compresses or cleaning. Remember to change pillowcases daily and consider wearing glasses instead of contact lenses during this period if you use them. Over-the-counter antiviral eye drops specifically for viral conjunctivitis aren’t available, so using those claiming to cure it overnight isn’t advisable. Prescription antiviral medications are typically unnecessary for viral conjunctivitis, unless there’s another underlying issue identified by an eye specialist. If your symptoms worsen or if you experience a significant decrease in vision, it would be important to seek further medical attention to rule out any complications.

The frustration you’re feeling is totally understandable because it’s indeed disruptive, but focus on managing the symptoms patiently while adhering to the hygienic measures. While you’re doing your best to be cautious, reminding family members to avoid touching their faces frequently and ensuring they also follow good hygiene practices will also help in preventing the spread within your household. If your condition isn’t improving or if new symptoms arise, follow up with your doctor for additional advice tailored to your situation.
