does sattu increase weight - #22638

Divya

I am really confused about something and hoping you all can help. So, I've been trying to eat healthier and, honestly, I came across sattu. Like, it's this flour made from roasted chickpeas, and my friend said it’s super nutritious. But then I heard somewhere that does sattu increase weight? I mean, I’m kind of in a dilemma now. I started including it in smoothies and porridge in the mornings. I thought it was a good thing, but now I dunno if I'm adding empty calories or somthing. I've been noticing a few extra pounds lately, which has me stressing a bit. I exercise regularly but I also like to indulge on weekends. The thing is I’ve always thought that sattu is good for digestion and gives you energy, but the thought of does sattu increase weight keeps creeping into my mind. Could it be that I'm eating too much or maybe it’s just not fitting into my needs? I'm just kinda lost, y’know? If anyone has any insights or experiences with this, I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks!

Sattu can be a nutritious addition to your diet, but like any other food, the key is in moderation and how it fits into your overall dietary needs. Sattu, being made from roasted chickpeas or sometimes barley, is indeed packed with protein, fiber, and various minerals. This makes it a good option for promoting satiety and providing energy, especially when consumed in balanced amounts. Regarding weight gain, it’s rarely caused by a single food. Instead, it results from consuming more calories than you burn over time. If you’re noticing extra pounds, it might be worth looking at portion sizes, overall caloric intake, and how sattu fits into your total daily diet. Since you mentioned exercising regularly, maintaining a balance with your lifestyle and eating patterns can help. Keep an eye on your portions and perhaps track your intake to see if sattu causes a significant calorie surplus. Additionally, consider your weekend indulgences—these can sometimes add more calories than expected. It’s true that sattu can support digestion and energy. So if used appropriately and with right portion control, it shouldn’t inherently cause weight gain. If you’re comfortable with tracking meals for a short period, it may identify whether sattu or other foods are contributing to changes in weight. Adjust accordingly based on your activity level and dietary preferences. If you continually struggle with weight changes or are unsure how to adjust, consulting a nutritionist could offer more personalized guidance to help align your dietary choices with health goals, without the worry of unnecessary weight gain.
