can we apply curd to hair - #23585

Shreya

I am trying to figure out if we can apply curd to hair, like, is it really that good for our scalp and strands? My sister swears by it, says her hair is so soft and shiny because of it. But honestly, I’m a bit skeptical. A few weeks ago, I noticed my hair was kinda dull and lifeless, I’ve tried all sort of shampoos and conditioners, but nothing seemed to work. I thought of going the natural route, and then I remembered what she raved about. Can we apply curd to hair, right? Like, how are we supposed to do it? Do we just slather it on? I mean, I don’t want to make a mess, but if it helps, I’ll do it. I did look it up online, and there are a lot of folks saying that curd’s great for moisturizing and all. But then I saw some posts saying it might make your hair feel greasy? That just doesn’t sound fun. I just want some advice from you guys. Any tips on how often we can apply curd to hair and, like, how do we wash it out easily? Am I missing anything? Thanks!

You can definitely try applying curd to your hair, it’s actually a popular natural remedy for hair care. Curd is rich in probiotics, lactic acid, and proteins which may help condition the hair and improve scalp health. It’s known for moisturizing properties and potentially making hair soft and shiny just like your sister mentioned. If you’re considering using curd, here’s a straightforward way to do it: Start with clean, damp hair, and take a sufficient amount of curd to apply evenly across your scalp and hair strands. You can use your fingers or a brush for more even distribution. Leave the curd in your hair for about 20-30 minutes to allow the nutrients to penetrate. To avoid mess, you can cover your hair with a shower cap. When you’re ready to rinse it out, use lukewarm water and follow with a mild shampoo to remove any residue or grease. Repeat this process once or twice a week, depending on how your hair responds. As for the greasy feeling some people mention, that can happen if you don’t rinse thoroughly or if your scalp is naturally oily. Keep an eye on how your hair responds, and adjust the frequency if needed. While curd can be beneficial for many, individual responses can vary. If you notice any irritation or if your hair feels excessively greasy, it might be worth trying a patch test first or alternate with other natural treatments to see what works best for you.
