Penis skin tears when pulling back sometimes bleeds already circumcised

Arnav

I am dealing with this super uncomfortable situation where the skin near my penis tears when pulling it back. I mean, I've been circumcised for years now, and this never happened before. It's kinda weird. Like, sometimes it bleeds, and other times it's just sore. I noticed it happening more often lately, which might be freaking me out a bit. I keep wondering if it's something I should worry about? Like, is this a common thing for guys who are already circumcised??? I’m starting to think maybe I need more lube or something, but then again, wd it just be a symptom of something more serious? I don’t want to jump to conclusions but aside from the tearing, there's also a little redness that hangs around after. The pain is not excruciating, but it’s not exactly pleasant either. Am I looking at possible infection or just issues with sensitivity? Anyone else had this issue with penis skin tears when pulling back after being circumcised?? Just really need some input here before I decide whether a doctor visit is in order. Do any of y’all have tips on how to avoid the bleeding or any advice that could help? Thanks!!

Experiencing tearing and bleeding of the penis skin, especially after being circumcised, isn’t typically common, but there could be several straightforward reasons behind it. Often these issues can stem from dryness or irritation which might be due to lack of lubrication, especially if you’re engaging in activities that cause friction like sex or masturbation. Try applying a hypoallergenic lubricant or a gentle moisturizer to that area to keep the skin more supple and less prone to tearing—avoid anything with perfumes or additional chemicals that might irritate the skin further. Also, check the type of soap or body wash you’re using; some can be quite harsh and drying. Switching to a milder, unscented product might help reduce irritation if that’s a contributing factor.

Another possibility to consider is a mild balanitis which involves inflammation of the glans and can cause redness and soreness. This might result from friction, poor hygiene, or even a mild yeast infection, which could show similar symptoms. Ensure proper hygiene but avoid over-washing, as excessive cleaning can exacerbate dryness and irritation. In some cases, skin conditions like dermatitis or eczema might also cause similar symptoms, so reflecting on any past skin issues can be helpful.

If these steps don’t relieve symptoms or if you notice signs of infection like persistent redness, severe itching, significant tenderness, or if the area starts discharging, you should seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can determine if there’s a need for specific treatments like antifungals or other medications. Don’t hesitate to visit a doctor for an examination, especially because recurring skin tears and bleeding shouldn’t be overlooked, and a professional evaluation can help address any underlying concerns effectively.
