Hello
A swollen urinary opening (meatus) after urination for 9 months is not normal and should be evaluated by a urologist. Possible causes include mild inflammation (meatitis), urethral narrowing (urethral stricture), irritation, or less commonly an infection.
Until you are seen:
* Drink plenty of water. * Avoid squeezing or manipulating the opening after urinating. * Gently blot the area dry after urination. * Avoid harsh soaps, scented products, and potential irritants. * Avoid sexual activity if it worsens the symptoms.
Your doctor may recommend a urine analysis, urine culture, STI testing (if there’s any risk), and examine the urethral opening. If a stricture is suspected, further tests such as uroflowmetry or cystoscopy may be needed.
Seek urgent medical care if you develop fever, severe pain, pus or significant discharge, inability to pass urine, or blood in the urine.
