Considering the symptoms you’re describing, it’s reassuring that your heart tests came back fine, but it’s important to still take these symptoms seriously. Persistent left arm pain along with chest pain, tightness, and difficulty breathing could have other origins. While cardiac issues might have been ruled out, other potential causes may include musculoskeletal problems such as costochondritis, or nerve-related conditions like cervical radiculopathy or even a pinched nerve. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) might also present with similar symptoms. Asthma or other respiratory issues cannot be overlooked either as potential causes of the difficulty in breathing. Additionally, anxiety or panic attacks can sometimes manifest with these symptoms.
Given the complexity and overlap of these conditions, a more focused diagnostic approach is warranted. Consider following up with your primary care physician to further explore non-cardiac causes. You might be referred to a specialist like a neurologist or rheumatologist for advanced diagnostic evaluations such as imaging studies (e.g., MRI, CT scan) or a full respiratory evaluation if a pulmonary issue is suspected. In the meantime, keep track of your symptoms and note if any activities seem to exacerbate them. It’s crucial to seek immediate medical attention if the chest pain becomes severe, if you develop new neurological symptoms, or if breathing difficulties worsen. For self-care, avoid triggers that induce symptoms, ensure you’re maintaining a heart-healthy diet, and manage stress levels effectively. You may also benefit from physical therapy if musculoskeletal in nature or exploring anxiety management techniques if stress related.
