I got my periods again? What's the reason behind this? - #11740
I got my periods on 16th of September. Have done unprotected sex on 24th of september and little semen got inside the vagina as we used the pull out method. Then on the same day I took ipill within 12 hours. It's been 7 days since I took ipill. And it's been 15 days since my last period ended. Today on 1st October I got my periods again. Why? Is it something I should be worried about?

Hello Darsh, Your situation is normal after taking i-Pill. It can be due to withdrawal bleeding and cycle irregularity. Nothing to worry at all.
If bleeding continues or there is pain, consult a GYNAECOLOGIST immediately. If no symptoms, then wait for next periods to come.
Take care
Hello dear Mostly its normal due to pill… as of hormonal changes… But i have some more concern regarding it … Due due have some sort of itching or abnormal bleeding or pain during intercourse? If yes then it can be because of uti also… if no… then nothing to worry . Let me further know about it.
Thank you
The situation you’re describing is quite a common one after taking emergency contraception, like the iPill. It’s known for causing temporary changes in your menstrual cycle due hormonal shifts it triggers. The bleeding you’re experiencing is likely a side effect of the iPill and not an actual period; it can occur because the hormones can cause your uterine lining to shed a bit earlier. This type of bleeding may be lighter or heavier than usual and could last fewer or more days than your typical period. It’s generally nothing to be concerned about but more of an expected reaction when you’ve taken an emergency contraceptive pill.
Emergency contraception can disrupt your cycle for a short period following its use, so your next cycle might come a bit earlier or later than you anticipate. If your next period is not back to your regular pattern, it might be wise to take a home pregnancy test just to rule out any uncertainty and have a clear understanding of your situation going forward. Also, it’s worth making a note to evaluate your regular contraceptive methods. The pull-out method is not reliable in preventing pregnancy; considering a method with higher efficacy might save you from unexpected worries in the future.
Consider reaching out to a healthcare provider if the bleeding is excessively heavy, prolonged, or accompanied by severe pain to ensure there’s nothing more serious occurring. It’s also an ideal opportunity for a conversation about ongoing contraception options that better suit your needs and lifestyle. If your bleeding persists or you notice any other unusual symptoms, seeking medical advice would be prudent for reassurance and further evaluation.
Hi Darsh,
No need to worry. iIt s very likely withdrawal bleeding caused by the i-pill, not an actual period. This is a common and well-known side effect of these pills.
Your cycle may take 1–2 months to regulate after emergency contraception. This is normal and doesn’t affect long term fertility.
I trust this helps Feel free to talk Thank you
Hello Darsh, This is due to the hormonal changes that happened due to the ipill.
When you take an ipill, the cycle get’s irregular for 1-2 months. Then it restores on its own.
Feel free to reach out again.

The bleeding you got on 1st Oct is because of iPill (hormonal withdrawal bleeding), not a real second period. It’s normal, nothing to worry about. Your next period may shift slightly, but cycles will stabilize.
1.The bleeding you got is not a real period, it is a withdrawal bleed caused by the emergency pill.
2.i-pill contains a high dose of hormone, which often disturbs the normal cycle and can cause early bleeding.
3.This is a common and expected side effect, especially when the pill is taken in the middle of the cycle.
4.You do not need to worry if the bleeding is like a normal period and not very heavy or prolonged.
5.Your next natural cycle may come slightly early or late, but it will usually settle down within 1–2 months.
