ajwain in loose motion - #18452

Ayaan

I am really stressed about this loose motion thing that started a few days ago. It all began after I had some street food that didn’t sit right with me, and now, no matter what I eat, I can’t seems to hold it in. I’m running to the bathroom like every hour! A friend told me that ajwain in loose motion can actually help, but I'm not really sure how to use it or if it even works. I mean, do I just chew on ajwain seeds or what? I tried some ginger tea and it helped a tiny bit, but someone else said ajwain in loose motion is the real deal. I googled it and found mixed opinions. Some say it can ease stomach upsets, while others sound skeptical. I keep wondering, how do I even prepare it? Should I mix it with other stuff? Can I just take it raw? Also, if ajwain in loose motion is supposed to be effective, how soon should I see results? I’m really hoping to get this under control before it gets worse or something. Just trying to figure out if ajwain is legit and how to incorporate it. Anyone have experience with using ajwain in loose motion?

Ajwain, also known as carom seeds, is popularly considered a home remedy for digestive issues, including loose motions, due to its ability to help reduce gas and bloating by relaxing the digestive tract muscles. Its effectiveness for your situation, however, can vary and isn’t widely backed by scientific studies targeting diarrhea specifically. To use ajwain, you can simply chew a teaspoon of seeds, or boil them in water to make a tea. Both methods are common. If you’re opting to boil them, add about 1 teaspoon of ajwain seeds into a cup of water, bring it to a boil, and allow it to simmer for about 5-10 minutes before straining and drinking. You could drink this once or twice a day. That being said, if you don’t notice an improvement within a day or two, it’s important to consider that persistent diarrhea can lead to dehydration and it’s crucial to maintain your fluid intake. Oral rehydration solutions or electrolyte drinks can help prevent dehydration. While trying home-based remedies, keep an eye on your symptoms – especially if you notice signs like blood in stools, severe abdominal pain, or fever, which would warrant seeking medical attention promptly. Your ongoing symptoms following a bout of street food consumption suggest a possible gastrointestinal infection or food poisoning, and if symptoms last more than a few days or worsen, you’d definitely need to consult a health professional. In the meantime, stick to a bland diet, like rice, bananas, or toast, and hydrate well. Remember, self-treatment with ajwain or any home remedy should not replace medical advice if there are signs of severe illness.
