how to cure pimples in one day - #21857

Vedant

I am really stressed out right now. This might sound silly but I have this important event tomorrow and suddenly I woke up today with a bunch of pimples on my face, like seriously who gets this stuff overnight, right? I’ve tried a bunch of home remedies in the past and I’m just so tired of it all. I am freaking out because I can't remember how to cure pimples in one day, and I really need to get rid of these before the big day. I heard some people say that putting toothpaste on them might help, but like really? Is that legit or just a myth? I also thought about using some ice or maybe a strong astringent, but I dunno if that's a good idea or if it’ll even work this fast. I’ve got some over-the-counter acne cream, but it usually takes days to actually make a difference. How to cure pimples in one day is what I need to know! Are there any quick fixes that actually work, like, right away? Or is there something I can do tonight that won’t leave my face looking like a total disaster by morning? Please, any advice would be awesome because I just want to feel confident and not worry about my skin tomorrow!

Doctors' responses

Addressing pimples overnight can be challenging since significant inflammation reduction typically takes a few days, but there are some strategies that might help to minimize their appearance temporarily. Firstly, using ice can help reduce the redness and inflammation. Wrap ice cubes in a clean cloth and apply it gently on the affected areas for about 10 minutes at a time, with 10-minute breaks in between. Avoid direct ice contact with the skin to prevent frostbite. Over-the-counter treatments containing benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid can be applied to target bacteria and exfoliate the skin minimally, but be cautious as applying too much can cause dryness or irritation. A thin layer before bed might help reduce the size overnight. Toothpaste is indeed a myth and not recommended as it can irritate the skin due to its formulation, potentially making things worse. Instead of strong astringents, consider a light application of a hydrocortisone cream if available, which may help with inflammation. Ensure your hands are clean when applying treatments. A non-comedogenic, oil-free moisturizer can help prevent excessive dryness from any treatments used. It’s essential to resist picking or squeezing the pimples as this can increase inflammation and risk of scarring. Make sure you have a gentle skincare routine and hygienic pillowcase for the night. While these steps may not cure pimples completely, they may help reduce visibility. For future events, maintaining a consistent skincare routine can help manage and prevent acne flare-ups more effectively. If you’re prone to persistent or severe acne, consider consulting a dermatologist for personalized advice and potential prescription treatments.
