how to increase stamina in bed

Arya

I am really concerned about my performance in bed lately. I’ve been with my partner for a couple of years, and honestly, things have been kinda awkward. One time I didn't even last 10 minutes, and it left me feeling totally embarrassed. We've talked about it, and I want to do better because I love her and don’t want her to feel unsatisfied. I’ve read a ton of articles on how to increase stamina in bed but nothing seems to work for me. I mean, I’m trying to eat better, and even started exercising, but I still get tired way too quick when it counts! Some buddies of mine mentioned that focusing on breathing and taking my time might help, but that kinda feels silly. I feel pressured to perform well, and then I end up feeling more anxious which I guess doesn’t help my stamina at all. If anyone has real advice on how to increase stamina in bed, I’m all ears – like, should I try different techniques?? Should I do more cardio or strength training or something? Or maybe even consider talking to a doc about this? Just don’t want to keep disappointing my partner, ya know?

Concerns about performance in bed are more common than you might think, and it’s great that you’re looking for ways to improve. Let’s break down a few strategies that might help increase stamina. Firstly, consider that both cardiovascular and strength training exercises can be beneficial. Regular aerobic activities like jogging, swimming, or cycling build cardiovascular endurance which not only helps in general but can improve stamina in intimate situations too. Strengthening exercises, particularly those for the core and pelvic muscles, can also enhance performance and control.

Focusing on breathing is more important than it might seem—it can help reduce stress and prolong endurance. Try practicing deep breathing exercises outside of the bedroom to stay relaxed. Mindfulness and techniques like the ‘stop-start’ method during intercourse can also be helpful. This involves pausing when nearing climax and distracting yourself for a moment to delay the ejaculation, though it might take a bit of practice. There’s valid insight to your buddies’ suggestion on trying different techniques; varying positions might help find what is most comfortable and sustainable for both you and your partner without over-exerting.

Discussing this with a healthcare provider can certainly offer more personalized advice. They can evaluate whether there’s any underlying health issue, such as hormonal imbalance or psychological factors like stress or anxiety, contributing to your concerns. Additionally, if there are specific dietary changes you are unsure about, they can guide you toward nutrition that supports stamina and overall sexual health.

Lastly, if anxiety about performance is an ongoing issue, some find that counseling or therapy helps. The mental aspect is a significant part of physical performance, and addressing it might relieve some pressure. Keep communication open with your partner, as mutual understanding and support often positively impact performance. Seek medical advice where necessary, and remember that it’s a journey for many, and patience is key.
