yogesh shetye

Ayaan

I am feeling really confused and honestly kinda worried. A few months ago, I started noticing this persistent pain in my lower back, and after suffering for weeks, I finally decided to see a doctor. They sent me for an MRI, and the results showed some degenerative issues with my spine. Then, a friend mentioned this physical therapist named Yogesh Shetye who had helped her with similar problems. I looked him up and, wow, he seems to have a lot of experience, like with spinal issues and stuff. But, I wonder if I should go to someone like Yogesh Shetye, or should I stick to my current treatment plan? I mean, my physical therapist isn't bad, but I'm not seeing much improvement. And I hear differing opinions about these alternative therapies. Has anyone here actually worked with Yogesh Shetye or knows about his methods? Like, does he really focus on spine rehabilitation, or is it just a gimmick? I feel like I’m running out of options here and just want to feel normal again. I'm just worried about choosing the wrong path, ya know? Like, should I keep pushing through this current therapy or try something new with Yogesh Shetye? Any insights would help, thanks!

Doctors' responses

When faced with persistent lower back pain, especially when MRI results show degenerative issues, it’s crucial to look at all available treatment options, both traditional and alternative. If you’re not seeing progress with your current physical therapy, it might be worth considering a consult with another expert like Yogesh Shetye, especially if he has a strong reputation and good outcomes with spinal rehabilitation. It’s not uncommon to get differing opinions about alternative therapies, but if a practitioner has credible experience and knowledge in spinal issues, it could be beneficial. Ensure that any treatment aligns with evidence-based practices, and prioritize therapies that complement your current treatment plans. Contacting Shetye for a consultation doesn’t mean abandoning your present therapy; it can supplement it—clarify what interdisciplinary approaches he might offer. Another thing to propely investigate before making the decision is investigate his credentials, track record and philosophy to ensure it aligns with your recovery goals. Continually assess how interventions (current or new) impact your symptoms and quality of life and don’t hesitate to discuss perceived inefficiencies with your current therapist, who may offer revisions or co-manage therapy with someone like Shetye. Be wary of any treatment promising overnight cures or significant changes without effort on your part, these are often too good to be true. By making informed, collaborative decisions, you can more effectively manage your pain and work towards improvement.
