when to take dolo 650 - #28470
I am kind of confused about when to take dolo 650. A week or so ago, I had this crazy fever that wouldn't go away, and my doctor prescribed it. At first, I thought, great, this will do the trick! But, I took it at random times without really looking into when to take dolo 650 properly. Basically, I'd pop one in anytime my head felt like it was spinning or my body ached. One night, I even took it just because I felt a bit chilly, and now I'm wondering if that was necessary. I read online that it can help with pain, but I didn’t think about just that. I've been curious about the dosage too. Is it like every six hours or something? Sometimes I’d set an alarm, and other times, I completely forgot. And the last time I took it felt different cause I was eating too, but I thought, does that even matter? Honestly, I wasn’t sure if my fever was really going down cause maybe I was just waiting too long to take my next dose of dolo 650. My fever finally broke, but I'm still a little on edge about what I'm doing. So, could someone explain when to take dolo 650 and if food really affects how it works? I just want to make sure I'm using it right next time. Thanks!

Dolo 650, containing paracetamol, is typically used for fever and mild to moderate pain. It’s generally safe if taken correctly, but timing and dosage are key to its effectiveness. You should take it every 4 to 6 hours as needed, without exceeding 4 grams (or 8 tablets of Dolo 650) in 24 hours. This helps maintain its blood levels for consistent relief. Take it for fever only it your temperature is above 100.4°F (38°C), and for pain based on severity. As for food intake, paracetamol can be taken with or without food. However, having it with food might decrease any stomach discomfort some people feel. Your fever breaking likely coincided with correct timing and proper hydration/rest, more than food timing. Watch for serious signs like persistent fever, chills, or other symptoms that don’t improve, as they require medical attention. If you forget a dose, take one as soon as you remember, but if it’s close to the next dose, just skip it—don’t double up. Tracking when you take each dose, possibly in a journal or app, can help avoid missed or doubled doses. As always, read the packaging for specific instructions or consult with your doctor if uncertain about the dosage, particularly if symptoms persist or if you have liver concerns, as paracetamol is metabolized largely through the liver. It’s wise to be cautious and aware when using paracetamol, even if it’s a common and relatively safe medication when used as directed.
