How to know if metformin will help with insulin sensitivity and aging at 28 years old?

Pawan

Im tired of asking questions. I don't know what to ask. Just make me assured as stone how can you say that I'll recover after metformin use. I used metformin 40 tablets over 7 months. All blood tests are normal right now. Please make me relaxed by full confirmation. Im 28. I was on psychiatry meds 6 months before metformin use for 3 years by doctor. Bupropion etizolam divalproex pregabalin-nt amisulpride lowest effective dose. Did i do right by taking metformin, would doctor have done the same because i felt insulin sensitivity decreased after psychiatry meds. I also felt aged. So i thought metformin will cure ageing of me somewhat.

Hello dear See metformin is known to Lower sugar Improve insulin resistance It is quite safer in type 2 diabetics and is usually given in combination with suphonyl ureas However it has irritating impact on Cardiac Renal health Gastric issues Vitamin b12 In addition Commonest side-effect is lactic acidosis However as per clinical history The exposure is intermediate and may not cause serious effects But still i suggest you to please consult concerned physician or diabetologist for safety Accordingly get routine tests and inhibit the medication Regards

Taking metformin without medical supervision, especially if your blood tests are normal, may not be the best approach. While metformin can improve insulin sensitivity and is being studied for potential benefits on aging, it’s primarily indicated for managing blood sugar in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Your situation, having used psychiatric medications, could have impacted metabolism and weight, but whether metformin is suitable in your case isn’t clear-cut. First, it’s important to verify insulin sensitivity issues through tests like fasting insulin, glucose tolerance, or HOMA-IR score, guided by a healthcare professional. If confirmed, lifestyle interventions — diet, exercise, weight management — are foundational before considering medication. Metformin’s role in aging is speculative, and its off-label use for this purpose lacks substantial human evidence. Only your healthcare provider can determine if it aligns with your personal health goals and conditions. If concerns about aging are predominant, sleep hygiene, stress management, a balanced diet rich in antioxidants, and regular physical activity are recommended strategies. Follow-up with your doctor for any changes in treatment or symptoms is crucial. They can reassess the potential, benefits, and innocuity of continuing or discontinuing metformin. Always consult your healthcare provider before adding or stopping medications. This approach ensures you’re receiving care tailored to your detailed medical history and current clinical needs.
