Doctors' responses

Experiencing frequent urination and dribbling could be related to a few potential causes even when the urine test results seem normal. It’s important to consider other aspects that might not show up in a standard urine analysis. One possibility is a urinary tract infection (UTI) that might not be picked up if tests were only limited to basic parameters. Sometimes, symptoms can persist if there’s an underlying obstruction or irritation in the urinary tract, perhaps due to an enlarged prostate if you’re male, or bladder issues. It’s also worth considering if there’s been any recent lifestyle or dietary changes: increasing fluid intake, caffeine consumption, or certain medications might influence urinary habits. Sometimes stress or anxiety can affect bladder behavior as well. Next steps could involve a comprehensive evaluation, potentially including an ultrasound to look at the bladder and kidneys, or maybe a more specialized urine test to rule out any bacteria not detected initially. A referral to a urologist might be necessary if symptoms persist, as they can provide more detailed insight and possibly recommend further testing, like urodynamic studies. At home, cutting down on irritants such as caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods might help. Ensuring pelvic floor exercises are done can also benefit bladder control. Always important to reach out to your healthcare provider for further assessment and personalized advice based on your entire medical history and any other symptoms you may have experienced.
