A Vitamin B12 level of 251 pg/mL can be considered borderline, since typically levels below 200 pg/mL are classified as deficient, with the gray area between 200-300 pg/mL warranting further investigation. Low B12 can indeed contribute to symptoms like fatigue, memory issues, and sometimes even dizziness. However, these symptoms can overlap with many other conditions too, such as thyroid issues, anemia, depression, or sleep disorders. Given your history of B12 deficiency, it would be wise to consider this as a possible cause, but not the only possibility.

For next steps, I recommend speaking with a healthcare provider about complete blood count (CBC) and tests for homocysteine or methylmalonic acid (MMA), as these can help determine if your body is functionally deficient in B12. If B12 deficiency is determined, discuss potential treatment options such as dietary adjustments or supplements. It’s vital to ensure you receive adequate dietary B12, typically found in meat, dairy, and fortified foods, particularly if you’re vegetarian or vegan. It’s also beneficial to review any medications or health conditions that could affect B12 absorption.

If your symptoms persist or worsen, further evaluations might be necessary to rule out other causes, as some of these symptoms, like dizziness and significant fatigue, could be markers for more serious conditions. Make sure to follow up on any recommendations your healthcare provider suggests, and report any changes in symptoms promptly. Your safety and well-being are paramount, so timely intervention is key to addressing these health concerns effectively.
