Hello
If you received an anti-rabies vaccine as a precaution and are otherwise healthy, there is usually no cause for concern. Rabies vaccines are generally very safe, and receiving a dose unnecessarily is not expected to cause long-term health problems. If you have not experienced any side effects and are feeling well, no special treatment is needed.
If the vaccine was started because of a possible rabies exposure, you should follow the vaccination schedule recommended by your healthcare provider and complete the series if advised. However, if there was definitely no exposure and the vaccine was given purely by mistake, discuss with the doctor who administered it to determine whether any further doses are necessary.
Seek medical attention if you develop significant side effects such as severe allergic reactions, difficulty breathing, widespread rash, or high fever, although these are uncommon. Otherwise, you can continue your normal daily activities and monitor for any symptoms.
