If you’ve noticed skin damage after starting a new skincare product and being exposed to sunlight, it’s possible you’re dealing with something like sunburn or possibly an allergic reaction to the soap. Sunburn can occur if the skin is exposed to intense sunlight, especially if the skin is more sensitive from using new products. You might experience redness, peeling, or even blisters. The first step is to stop using that soap immediately. Often, products can contain ingredients which may cause photosensitivity, meaning your skin might react more intensely to the sun. It’s also possible that some of these ingredients could have triggered an allergic reaction. As a first measure, use a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser and apply a moisturizer that’s suitable for sensitive skin. Aloe vera gel or products containing hyaluronic acid can also provide relief and hydration. Consider using a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily, even when indoors, to prevent further sun damage. Keep hydrated by drinking plenty of water and avoiding direct sunlight during peak times. For persistent or severe symptoms, it’s essential to see a dermatologist—they can offer tailored advice or prescribe treatments like topical steroids if an allergic reaction is suspected. You must also visit them urgently if you see blisters, infections or any unusual symptoms as these could be signs of a more serious condition. Managing stress levels through techniques like meditation or light exercise can be beneficial to maintain your focus on work while dealing with this issue.
