dengue ka upchar - #18778

Parth

I am really worried since my whole family went on a vacation to a tropical place last month, and a few days after we got back, my younger brother started feeling terrible. He had fever, body aches, and this horrible headache that just wouldn’t go away. When we took him to the doctor, they mentioned that dengue could be a possibility and ordered some tests. We got the report back confirming dengue and now I am just panicking about what to do next. What is the dengue ka upchar that we can start right away? The doctor told us to keep him hydrated and said something about pain relief, but is there anything else we should be doing? I heard different things about dengue ka upchar online—some say you should take certain foods or avoid certain activities, and I honestly don't know what’s right! Should he rest a lot or is gentle exercise okay? How important is nutrition in this situation? I just want to make sure he recovers quickly. Any advice or tips on dengue ka upchar that really work would be super helpful coz we’re kinda lost here and just want to make sure he’s fine!

Once dengue is confirmed, primary management focuses on supportive care, as there’s no specific antiviral treatment currently available for dengue fever. The core of dengue ka upchar involves ensuring adequate hydration since dehydration due to high fever and poor oral intake is common. Encourage oral rehydration by giving fluids like water, oral rehydration solutions (ORS), or clear soups frequently. It’s usually a good idea to monitor his urine output as this can indicate hydration status—frequent urination with light-colored urine usually means he’s well-hydrated. As instructed by the doctor, pain and fever management are also crucial. Paracetamol is generally recommended for managing fever and pain, but you should avoid NSAIDs like ibuprofen or aspirin, as they might increase the risk of bleeding. Regarding rest, it is important for him to take plenty of rest until he has fully recovered. Avoid any strenuous physical activities, as they can exacerbate symptoms or lead to complications. Gentle movements are okay as long as they’re comfortable, so don’t push for any exercise. Nutrition plays a supporting role, so encourage a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and proteins to maintain his strength; however, there’s no specific diet proven to alter the course of dengue. Foods rich in vitamin C and antioxidants like oranges, kiwis, and berries can be beneficial, but they won’t replace hydration and rest. Most importantly, watch for warning signs such as severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, rapid breathing, bleeding gums, or blood in vomit, as these could indicate severe dengue, requiring immediate medical attention. Keep a close watch on him, and follow up with healthcare professionals if you suspect any of these symptoms. Through all these basic yet essential steps, he’ll have the best chance for a smooth recovery.
