when to consume apple cider vinegar - #23203

Parthiv

I am confused about when to consume apple cider vinegar!! I’ve heard a lot of benefits about it lately, but also like some mixed opinions, ya know? A friend told me she takes it every morning before breakfast, saying it helps with digestion and gives her energy. I tried that for a few days, but then I read online that some people say it’s better to have it after meals or diluted. My stomach felt weird at first, like I got some acid reflux or something. I didn’t think it was that strong, honestly. Then I thought I could mix it with some water or in a smoothie to make it easier, but still, I’m not sure when to consume apple cider vinegar for the best results. Like, should I drink it once a day or more?? I even considered having it with dinner, but I can’t tell if that’s effective or just an excuse for the taste, haha. What do you guys think? Is there a specific timing that’s best, or does it depend on the person? I’d love any tips on how to make the most out of this stuff without feeling yucky!

When it comes to apple cider vinegar (ACV), there isn’t one perfect time of day that’s universally best for everyone. It often depends on your individual goals and how your body reacts. Many people choose to consume it in the morning on an empty stomach to potentially aid digestion and kickstart their metabolism, but if you’re experiencing discomfort or acid reflux like you mentioned, it’s a good idea to adjust how you’re consuming it. Diluting ACV in a glass of water can help reduce its acidity and make it easier on your stomach. You might want to start with one teaspoon in a full glass of water and increase gradually to one to two tablespoons as tolerated. Taking it before meals may also help with appetite control, but if you notice persistent stomach upset, consider having it with or after meals instead. This might buffer the acidity and reduce irritation. As for frequency, most advice suggests once or twice a day is sufficient. More isn’t necessarily better. If you’re adding it to smoothies or other beverages, that’s perfectly fine as long as it doesn’t alter the underlying nutritional balance significantly. Remember that the evidence supporting ACV’s health benefits is somewhat limited and mixed; it can vary widely between individuals. Also, long-term use might have adverse effects like causing tooth enamel erosion due to its acidity, so drink through a straw and rinse your mouth afterwards to minimize contact with your teeth. If you continue to experience discomfort or are concerned about side effects, it’s wise to consult with a healthcare professional. They’re best placed to provide guidance that’s specific to your health conditions and lifestyle.
