is chana dal good for diabetes - #24855
I am really confused about my diet since being diagnosed with diabetes a few months ago. My doctor mentioned that I should focus on foods with a low glycemic index, and I've heard people say that is chana dal good for diabetes? I mean, I love Indian food, and chana dal is one of my favorites, but I want to be safe with my choices. Lately, I noticed that whenever I eat it, my blood sugar levels do stay pretty stable, but I just read something that said dal could be high in carbs? Does that mean I shouldn't eat it? I've also been swapping it out for rice sometimes, thinking that was a healthier option, but now I'm doubting it. My mom used to make this great chana dal curry with spices, and I kinda miss it. Like, am I doing more harm than good? Should I be eating it in moderation or what? Asking because I'm trying to manage my diabetes better without feeling deprived. Is chana dal good for diabetes if I balance it with other foods? Ugh, just really want to make the best choices, but all this info is just overwhelming.
